Thsi game reminds me a lot of the game called The New Tetris Nintendo 64 Game, some of the moves that i see here are very similar to the ones used in The New Tetris
Meh. This game seems like Tetris Worlds. I didn't like that tetris much. Didn't like the controls either with Up being hard drop. Also don't like the regular 360 controller. I use to play Tetrinet and Tetrinet 2 a lot back in the day. Now those were some tetris games.
You should be planning farther ahead than just the next piece. I just play with a basic strategy of attacking whenever I get a certain piece, but there are better ways than that. You'll want to look up something called ST Stacking. There are demonstrations of ST Stacking in other games on YouTube, and they should apply to Splash as well. Tetris Concept covers this type of stacking in depth, so check that out if you're interested.
dude ur sick!! can anyone give a good guide on gettin the old school technique?? by completing a game of tetris does it mean get to like lvl 50 or clearing the bloks??? id never do that... ever. esp without hold!!
In Tetris Splash, Marathon mode ends when you clear level 15, after a total of 600 lines. Some things add bonus lines to let you get to 600 faster, like Back-to-Back Tetrises, T-spin line scores, and combos.
My 40 lines time here isn't all that great. If you want to see sick speed, check out Caffeine's 40 lines time attack. That guy is a legend.
Trying to get the combo achievement is turning out to be quite infuriating. So much luck involved, if you so much as get one piece wrong and don't have a good one in the hold queue, there goes the whole attempt. Sigh.
"Double tetris" is useless. Clumping garbage only matter very rarely, and if you should, you probably are already in a winning position. Better to focus on clearing garbage and spinning T's.
True. I suppose that against that in battles between 6 elite players such as yourself or just in 1v1's, playing safe and low is probably the better strategy. Do T-spins have the same added garbage in Splash that they have in Tetris DS? Maybe it's a little more balanced now that they revised the definition of a T-spin since then.
Right, it still goes T-Spin > Tetris. Combos can also be strong, I haven't really checked it out yet. Anyway, sorry if I came off a little strong. Good intro-level video. Let me know if you'd like to play Splash some time.
Yeah, I haven't figured out the damage for combos, but I have scored a few kills from combo runs. I think combos send a flat 1 line of garbage per line cleared, but I'd have to check. I like that idea so far; it's now a good strategy to play defensively and be prepared to combo through garbage lines. If T-spins are still strong in this game, I'll have to start setting them up again like I used to in TDS. Meh, my strategy still needs a lot of work. I'll have to play you in Splash sometime.
.. SO PRO!

It just takes practice. Just play the game for a couple months in multiplayer and work on your speed, and you'll get about this fast too.

This is a great tutorial! Any chance you could do one exclusivly for planning out moves by looking at the next piece?

this game is dope! but how do u get the T-Spin achievment??

btw. Garbage can counteract. It's not always good to go as fast as you can against a player that knows what he is doing.

Hitstun you are one of those fast tetris mofo's that burn me on xbox live.

Tet. Evo. wasn't crap? :-s It was pretty fun

for 8 combo i like to leave the left or right 2 columns open, build up to the top, and then just spray and pray down that hole.
It's good for getting the achievement, not so effective in the real game.

thats exactly the way to do it. but for the top few lines leave 3 so you can take out a couple of one liners with L or J pieces
