Sure sedin's a solid player offensively. Leading the league is no easy feat for sure, but if you are going to play professional hockey and have your head down, you should expect a hit. there is no need for this "stick up for your star" crap when he was doing something he should have been. A star player wouldn't look to fight after taking a hit, especially one that was legal and completely merited.

Usually when a devastating hit is delivered to a star player, most of the time goons or tough guys from the team will step up and go after the checker. Why? because it shows the other team that if you try and hit our star players we're going after you.

Basically, it's a form of intimidation.
