I would love to see Eddie and Dave and Alex do a stripped down blues album. Get a nice simple small drum kit and forget the tapping and dive bombs for one album. Eddie's dirty tone and Dave's raspy voice compliment each other..Not to mention Ed can improvise like a mother...

Fading away. The talent is fleeting. Too many years of too much excess has taken its toll on these boys. Roth's range is like his hairline. Receding. Hit the gym, eat some health food practice, and get Sammy back. Then maybe there's a chance at another worthy performance and some decent new tunes. Oh, and ditch the kid. Michael Anthony plays and sings. The kid should be a roadie.

@Pat9201 Yes, Dave toured in 2004. Saw him play in Ontario Canada that year. Great show . Probably his last tour of doing the splits off the drum riser every show.

And I agree with you. VH needed Dave and Dave needed VH. Now if Ed would let go of the past issues and get Mike back in the band. I know he's proud of his kid. But Wolfgang is NOT a seasoned pro. He's a statue up there slashing away on his bass. He doesn't do the rhythm section any justice.He is NOT a performer..

I have to disagree. Jimi Hendrix was still a great guitarist, but really he was an excellent song-writer (I personally believe).

Now Eddie, he's just mind-blowingly amazingly stunningly incredibly the best guitarist ever. Blows all of them away, even at 53. Now can any other guitarist do that?

the point isnt who is the better musician. comparing hendrix to EVH is like apples to oranges. they were both amazing at what they did. The fact is that both of them changed the way music was looked at and for that both Hendrix and EVH deserve the credit they get.

Thats not true...Ed was drinking again and got into a blowout with Wolfgang backstage at one of the last shows in Florida, before they cancelled the dates. It was also showing on some of his performances, MGM being one of them.
