Well you maybe you cant hear the difference cause you dont have a good ear. But thats not a problem though, you can still feel the difference in the build of both guitars, the tuning stability, the list goes on and on.

Yes definitely, I think humbuckers handle distorition better for heavier things than blues.

i got a similar guitar with the sss. the tone is awesome distorted! it SCREAMS. harmonics squeal, however a little more effort is required. depends what kinda music you wanna play. i dont play metal much, but i krank it sometimes to play with a bit of an angus young tone. but its definately not good enuf to play trivium etc

its perfect for stuff like lynyrd skynyrd, acdc and bruce springsteen etc (usual fender stuff)

no problem. SSS are nice, but HSS are far more versatile. I can also play lynyrd skynyard stuff and acdc with an HSS. Also note that ACDC and lynyrd skynyrd both use Humbuckers haha.

the guy from lynyrd skynyrd uses a sss strat. versatility?! i suppose you could say thats a matter of opinion. the single in the bridge is more bright and twangy than the humbucker. i suppose it depends what your into! i always play clean, or just a wee bit of roughness. sss suits me better now! i was tempted to buy an hss usa strat...but the deluxe model this time, then i realised that to use a humbucker would remove that beautiful, twangy bridge tone. stuck with the american standard=]

Versatility means it serves for lots of purposes. Its more versatile since I can play lots of heavy stuff with my guitar with the same ease that I can play heavy stuff. Plus, twangy tone can be emulated by brightening the amp, but the depth a hb gives you cant be emulated. And Lynyrd skynyrd are three gutiars, they mostly use gibsons and stuff with humbuckers, at least from the videos I saw.

Thanks, its a lovely guitar. Certanly I would've bought a les paul custom but in the matter of price/quality fender is much better. An american standard strat is far superior than a studio LP. They cost the same

I just bought a MIM HSS strat for $450, but yah the variety in tones you can get out of one is great. I'm currently using a 1970 Fender Twin Reverb vintage amp, my new HSS Strat (MIM), and a Boss GT-8 effects board. I'm getting the best sound I have ever had and I play a variety of music.

Well, since you probably cant work. What I did/do apart from doing some jobs, I save all the money I could at all moments. Then when I got enough money I bought the guitars. Although the only expensive one I own is the Fender. My LP cost 250, and my other two guitars 150 each

Dude frontman amps suck. The distortion is super muddy and the clean isnt anything spectacular. Better off saving that extra 200 buck and getting a cheap tube amp

i know this may sound weird but since this has a humbucker would it be ok for playing metal cuz i like the look and sound of strats just there mostly all single coils and you cant play heavy stuff on single coils to well

I used to have one (it was stolen) but yeah i wish i still had it, it works well for hard rock and a little metal. I would recommend changing the pick-ups though

There are definitely better guitars for metal, but it's possible on a Fender. Ritchie Blackmore, the fellas from Iron Maiden, Malmsteem, and so on. Of course you would have to take note of how they've modified their guitars.

Well 200 dollars in total, its a cheap strat which I repainted. In the future itll have a maple neck and a floyd... Coming in may 2009
