Really good performance. I think Dario's size is right. Maybe another inch on the arms but that's it. A meathead/cave man looking guy in a lead role is too 80's. Plus they usually appear unintelligent (try hhh), which Conan wasn't.

If there were to be a remake, Mariusz Pudzianowski would have to take the lead role. This guy is too small and doesn't convey any sense of wild strength. He looks like a typical recreational bodybuilder.
I dunno... It feels more like watching Arnold, than like watching Conan... well , perhaps because those are just the scenes from Millius' movie with Dario Deak instead of the Terminator... perhaps not... Anyway, his face's definately too pretty for Conan :P .
If Millius were actually doing his "Crown of Iron" film, Mr. Deak would be a pretty good candidate for Conan's son, and this would be pretty amusing to send casting directors.

yeah i totally agree. First off fantastic editing and a great effort by dario but he just seems to be imitating Arnolds performance and there for isn't natural. He isn't raw like Arnold was as conan. He isn't enough of an introvert nor has strong enough emotions. With Arnold the emotion was very strong and you saw it in his eyes but he didnt express it he kind of held it back and was very cold. Its something that Arnold had naturally and he didnt act it. With Dario it seems forced.
It's obvious that Dario has the talent and look to carry the role but I'd like to know more about the new movie. I am glad the new Conan is not some computer-generated image such as the latest Incredible Hulk, bit I am not sure that the same will be applied to his adversaries.

I am a fan of Robert E Howard but I am also a fan of Millius' movie. I didn't think that Arnold could be replaced as Conan but after seeing this video I feel differently. I like the entire segment but it's the prayer to Crom that won me over. Just a great acting performance and far superior to anything Arnold has ever done.

I am a long time fan of Arnold but I am impressed with Dario's look and talent. I don't like the shaved bodybuilder look though and having some body hair would be more realistic. I felt the same way about Arnold, especially in Conan The Destroyer. I feel that Dario's acting talent will allow for a deeper relationship with Valeria. Just my thoughts.

This guy's got the whole package. Both talent and look. It's true that the original Conan character was written "...built thick like a bull with tree trunk legs..." but to have that in a movie is unrealistic. The last thing I would want to see is another HULK,... a stupid anmimation instead of a real actor. I want to see a real movie with great acting.
I think they picked him young on purpose because they're trying to create a franchise, and want to make many sequels.
I actually enjoyed this. I am a die hard Conan fan, Robert E Howard was the man. But as I am sure the serious fans would agree in staying true to the original character you just aren't large enough. Conan was written as taller than most men and built thick like a bull with tree trunk legs. I am not sure how tall you are but I would guess well under 6' I could see you playing a young conan but I can't picture you as his adult character.
I agree, he needs to gain a few inches on those arms. Doesn't need to be a roid-monkey, but more development would be good. AS for how tall he is, that can be "adjusted" in camera. If they can make Stallone look 6'4", they can make this guy fit in conan's boots. Keep lifting and eat like a madman.
Very good acting. Much better than Arnold I must admit. He should gain another 10 lbs and not be too lean. Conan is not Beastmaster and should be massive. His hair should be black as well. Adjust this and we will have the NEW AND IMPROVED CONAN!!!

A remake of conan is happening . I got this from a very reliable source who told me about new films coming out that i never kenw about like castlevania the video game is being made into a movie . there was talks in muscle and fitness some years back and the original script was triple H playing conans son and arnold playing an old aging conan . and conan is killed and his son played by triple H takes revenge . But that was canned since arnold is now govener and wouldnt be bale to do the movie
Dario's face is not as barbaric as Arnolds, which makes for the more intelligent Conan in line with today trend of superheroes. The new and younger audiences should respond to it though I hope the movie stays true to it's original rating. Dario's look is far more appealing to the female audiences, which would inevitably be added to the Conan fan base. Winning over an existing Arnold's fan base won't be easy, but all things considered, smart move from the marketing standpoint.

Actually, Arnold is nothing like Conan from the Robert E. Howard stories, because Howard's Conan is very intelligent, quick like a panther, brooding and hairy. Dario's not a bad actor, but, from what I can gather, he hasn't read any of the origional material written by Howard, and so he won't fit. He's too mainstream already because of his bodybuilding look, which Conan doesn't possess

When I heard they are doing Conan remake I swore I would not go to see it because I never thought they would be able to find anyone to fill this role. But this guy is really good. I don't know if I like him as much as Arnold but he definitely has what it takes. Gives me hope that the remake might actually be worth seeing.

If Millius were actually doing his "Crown of Iron" film, Mr. Deak would be a pretty good candidate for Conan's son, and this would be pretty amusing to send casting directors.
However, for the upcoming film supposedly based on the R. E. Howard pulps, this approach is all wrong. I'm a little confused by the username "NewConantheBarbarian" too.

fantastic editing. dario just needs to work on his accent, it needs to be eastern europeon. but if this is an attempt to try and cast Dario in the next conan film then it's a real good try.

yeah i totally agree. First off fantastic editing and a great effort by dario but he just seems to be imitating Arnolds performance and there for isn't natural. He isn't raw like Arnold was as conan. He isn't enough of an introvert nor has strong enough emotions. With Arnold the emotion was very strong and you saw it in his eyes but he didnt express it he kind of held it back and was very cold. Its something that Arnold had naturally and he didnt act it. With Dario it seems forced.

It's obvious that Dario has the talent and look to carry the role but I'd like to know more about the new movie. I am glad the new Conan is not some computer-generated image such as the latest Incredible Hulk, bit I am not sure that the same will be applied to his adversaries.

I am a fan of Robert E Howard but I am also a fan of Millius' movie. I didn't think that Arnold could be replaced as Conan but after seeing this video I feel differently. I like the entire segment but it's the prayer to Crom that won me over. Just a great acting performance and far superior to anything Arnold has ever done.

This "is" a replica of the real Conan...It is nice to see the epic go on. I just don't like how they put new guy in parts from the original movie. Yippy he's an actor that looks good for the role. So what happens after his fathers sword gets broken by the god at the end of the real movie? And By the way...... Krom is my hero!!!! Did'nt really know him that much, just bones; but he must have been a great king of his time. I want his sword!!!

I am a long time fan of Arnold but I am impressed with Dario's look and talent. I don't like the shaved bodybuilder look though and having some body hair would be more realistic. I felt the same way about Arnold, especially in Conan The Destroyer. I feel that Dario's acting talent will allow for a deeper relationship with Valeria. Just my thoughts.

Is this De ja vu? I've already seen this part from the real Conan. And I much prefer the original. Come on Movie guys, can't you come up with something different. And be careful not to hurt new wittle conans baby face. I wish you could have maybe started the way it goes from the end of the first Conan movie. Conan the destroyer wasn't near as good though it was arnold playing the role and he was the perfect choice for Conan.

This guy's got the whole package. Both talent and look. It's true that the original Conan character was written "...built thick like a bull with tree trunk legs..." but to have that in a movie is unrealistic. The last thing I would want to see is another HULK,... a stupid anmimation instead of a real actor. I want to see a real movie with great acting.
I think they picked him young on purpose because they're trying to create a franchise, and want to make many sequels.

I actually enjoyed this. I am a die hard Conan fan, Robert E Howard was the man. But as I am sure the serious fans would agree in staying true to the original character you just aren't large enough. Conan was written as taller than most men and built thick like a bull with tree trunk legs. I am not sure how tall you are but I would guess well under 6' I could see you playing a young conan but I can't picture you as his adult character.

I agree, he needs to gain a few inches on those arms. Doesn't need to be a roid-monkey, but more development would be good. AS for how tall he is, that can be "adjusted" in camera. If they can make Stallone look 6'4", they can make this guy fit in conan's boots. Keep lifting and eat like a madman.

Very good acting. Much better than Arnold I must admit. He should gain another 10 lbs and not be too lean. Conan is not Beastmaster and should be massive. His hair should be black as well. Adjust this and we will have the NEW AND IMPROVED CONAN!!!

A remake of conan is happening . I got this from a very reliable source who told me about new films coming out that i never kenw about like castlevania the video game is being made into a movie . there was talks in muscle and fitness some years back and the original script was triple H playing conans son and arnold playing an old aging conan . and conan is killed and his son played by triple H takes revenge . But that was canned since arnold is now govener and wouldnt be bale to do the movie

Dario's face is not as barbaric as Arnolds, which makes for the more intelligent Conan in line with today trend of superheroes. The new and younger audiences should respond to it though I hope the movie stays true to it's original rating. Dario's look is far more appealing to the female audiences, which would inevitably be added to the Conan fan base. Winning over an existing Arnold's fan base won't be easy, but all things considered, smart move from the marketing standpoint.

Actually, Arnold is nothing like Conan from the Robert E. Howard stories, because Howard's Conan is very intelligent, quick like a panther, brooding and hairy. Dario's not a bad actor, but, from what I can gather, he hasn't read any of the origional material written by Howard, and so he won't fit. He's too mainstream already because of his bodybuilding look, which Conan doesn't possess

Oliver stone wanted to do alot more films about conan but there was a dipute between him and a few other people its a shame coz a third would be good hey if a rocky balbo can be mande then surely a third conan can be done as well

Conan's mind is not simple. Are you trying to describe the scene that deals with the labyrinth mirrors in the story Rogues in the House? If so, than you need to re-read that story. Conan is anything but simple minded, and Arnold's bodybuilding physique is nowhere close to an actual warrior's. Conan is heavily muscled because he scales mountains and fights--not because he goes to Gold's Gym and does his bicep curls and bench presses. (HA!) Weak civilized curs!

When I heard they are doing Conan remake I swore I would not go to see it because I never thought they would be able to find anyone to fill this role. But this guy is really good. I don't know if I like him as much as Arnold but he definitely has what it takes. Gives me hope that the remake might actually be worth seeing.
