I rember seeing this when it was aired. Never was much of a E.C. fan, but I had seen lots of letterman shows. I was frozen the whole performance, straight-jacketed by the arrangement and delivery like my first motorcycle accident. I crap you not, I had never seen the actual roof blown off of lettermans dump until then. Sure, Dave sometimes says that phrase after musical guests perform, but this was the real thing. Too bad they did not include the crowd response when Elvis finished.
