@briangunn21 I'm a white belt, but I reckon you pull them down with the grip on the neck, and the arm. As you control one wrist, they have more trouble basing, and that will enable you to pull people down for some seconds at least.
Ladies and gents, practice this move, and then never believe that you will finish a fight with it, its one of the fucking hardest submissions to emply, good scare tactic from guard to warn your opponent off you, but its too hard. Rear naked choke is the easiest followed by guilloteen
@spritsengiggle Well thanks for correcting me, I for one will be the first to say my spelling was never too great, either way, this submission is hard as you can get, chokes are not hard in the slightest, wrap legs round, pull tight game over. There are many ways of getting out of a triangle choke, many! but for a rear naked, there aint many my friend.
@TheSpitfire91 Please name some triangle escapes, and triangle setups. I like the meat hook way, and hitting it from inverted. I only know three full on triangle escapes though, (One is a slam) I've been doing MMA for a decade now, but I must have missed these escapes.. can you explain a few, just short like?
@spritsengiggle I dont name these escapes, I just put them in practice. 1) (Last resort - dangerous) Stand, roll back WATCH THE ARM! wrap your legs over his body so he cant sit up and use brute strength to pull out 2) As you may know, when hes locking up, swing your body to the right or left, his triangle will collapse unless he has a very strong grip on your arm 3) If he does have your arm, swing your foot round and push your heel into his neck, use brute strength to pull out
@TheSpitfire91 4) This is great, Once the first leg creeps over your head, Grip it with both arms and stand at the same time, twist your body around so he can see your arse put your leg over his body and fall strait into a kneebar, very impressive trust me. 5) Do exactly the same thing, drop his leg (confuses him) and fall into an arm bar (6 Last resort: Slam: waste lots of energy. (7 COMMON SENCE, dont ever let him wrap his legs around your head, its very easy to notice, pull out like a mother F
That is correct ---The only reason that may work is if the person is a FISH. So to reiterate you need to stuff either hand to set up the Triangle. Other than that not a bad explanation just polish it up as you continue to rep the move.
I love the grappling! I trained in Shotokan and Tae Kwon Do, but until I did Jiu Jitsu and worked out with shoot fighters, it's a whole different world! Very good to know ground combat.
@rockabillysilly Old shoot fighter here!:) I did Kyokushin and taekwon-do as well! Hell of a base, those three combined! What I love about Shoot fighting is that it emphasises leg locks, no gi grappling, and the shoot. Now I'm hooked on tenth planet, it's similar in ways except it's pure jiu jitsu, and personally I feel it's on another level as far as how the techniques are combined, and the techniques themselves.
its not the easiest submission and its very hard to trick someone with it. The easiest is probably the guillotine or the rear naked. Achilles ankle lock is also piss easy, just one down ward yank with your arm pit, you can do it with no hands also.
@TheSpitfire91 true that!!! it is not as easy as it looks if u don't have the timing down right. jiujitsu is not that simple. even the stuff that looks simple is really not that simple.
dude this is basic stuff. The best submission ever. I will be introducing " Dimitri's Kimura" later tonight, the Kimura has not changes in over 3000 years but it will tonight
@billysue2 just remember if you're facing a wide bodied or broad shouldered person that you dont HAVE to figure 4 your leges. it's idea, but no always mandatory. just lock your ankles and bring your knees together. i have found that shorter legged people find success with that because of the leverage power they get from that position.
@billysue2 well i cant realy help you then, i am a pretty low level player myself. the best i can tell you is find a guy with that particular frame and work with him. he will be able to tell you what feels tight and what doesnt. also if you have a guy at your gym that has your build you can ask them what they have had success with. good luck man and never stop searching.
instead of putting the foot that yer locking with on the ground couldnt u put it under their body or something so that the body locks the foot that locks xD
Yeah I have a lot of success with the wicked triangle (which is basically just hooking your foot that's on top in their thigh like a butterfly hook), it works great when their hips are far out because you have the room to stick it in, rather than if their are close in to you. If you want to create the space, walk back on your hands and scoot your butt out Denny Prokopos style.
You cant pull someone down with one arm...at least a strong person

@TheSpitfire91 It's called Guillotine actually. And against game opponents, getting a rear naked is one of the hardest subs, at least I think so.

@4U2NV666 yep,if theyre very wide and your legs are short it may not be doable, happens to me in the absolute division since i so short.
