Jeff at hallowed sounds is incredible. let him know what you want, he'll make it, and IMHO jeffs sticks are some of the best on the market. a master craftsman for sure. i own 2 from him so far. :D couldnt be happier.
Okay I know this sounds kind of weird and all, but I think if I could find a low A key agave, that'd go well. The leather is a D# and the yucca Im gettin soon is a C#, so an a may not make sense at first, but trust me. it not quite making sense when i switch from playing D# to A in a session would pack more of a punch than a Bb, cuz it's not expected. it would shock you for a second.
haha actually i owned 3 "didges" before all at C#. i say "didges" not didges, because one was a decorated pvc pipe from china, and the other 2 were malaysian bamboo fakes. i'll eventually get an ex community aboriginal mago.
oh definitely, when i got my marko didge, i had recently played the pvc pipe, and switching to it, just out of it's box, it's a whole lot more bold and responsive, and has enough of an increase in backpressure to make it that little bit easier to play. just bought the jeff lohr didge 2 days ago, it should be heading out soon, to my relatives in copake, new york. i just can't believe it'll be another half a year to a year before i can pick it up from them :/ ah well well worth waiting for.
Agave is great for low keys. thin walls, high resonance, good volume, and best of all LIGHT. i have 2 other dides that weigh 12 lbs each! this one is like only 5, and triple the length!
cant wait for you to get yours! gratz on a unique stick, and i hope to hear your samples in the future.
Yeah I'll hopefully get some vids up, tho i want to find a good cave to play in :L
and that's great that i now know what i'm looking for. well, sort of. i don't quite know what key would best suit my current range for my music, but i'm tryin to find out atm
also keep in mind portability. i cant take my agave anywhere in a car,and around the house is dangerous enough. LOL. just something to keep in mind. there are some great low keyed didges that are only 4 feet or so, but be ready for LOWW backpressure.
haha, nah i doubt i'll be taking the agave when i get it around, but backpressure is more important to me than portability in any case. 4 feet ones are out of the question anyway. i want a big one.
Geezer!:-))
