@nonsenseislisa Yes actually, it made her hair look like it was naturally lighter all by itself. It's easier for darker, or dishwater blondes to pull off light blonde hair with roots because their hair is still blonde. I think its a pretty cascading effect because when we're younger our hair grows in darker from top to bottom like that anyway.
So the Ombre is basically just blending your roots and difusing the harsh line? Pretty silly really. I thought women are trying to hide their roots? now they just blend it?
@MrEspana84 It's also to lighten your hair to make your roots lighter, tricking people that you indeed had a dye job, and making them think your natural color is lighter than it really is. (roots) Something along the lines of, "Oh no, look, my roots are coming in! Atleast I'm still naturally dirty blonde and can pull it off."
Appreciate your work - I just subscribed to your channel - Please check out my new Vid - "Choppers Hair Salon" - the hair smoothing - Moroccan Oil. Look forward to your next.
@LoveHelloKitty822 heres a rule: if you use box color its going to look like box color and everyone will know you did it yourself for 3$. you get what you pay for
That looked good. I remember 8 or 9 years ago we did this but it was just called colour melting. Guess the names change. It was a bit different in that we would take back to backs from the occipital up, and paint the base colour. Then apply the highlight colour/lightener at the same time as the base and we would stagger the regrowth line using a blending brush (One foil the base might be coloured 1" out. The next one 1.5"s, so the line was diffused). Can you not do everything at once here?
hi.. love ur work. i was wondering, when u erased the harsh line at the top, was it with bleach or with the color? thanks n keep up with ur work... wishing u the best.. :)
wow great job, you seem like an excellent teachor and I love the tip about teasing the hair before applying color/foil..wow..I am not a stylist but that is a good tip to take note of..I am hoping to go to beauty school ( quite late in life..I am 35) and this video makes me want to become a hairstylist even more...
Hi. What color did you use for the lowlighting and shading? The same fomula?, or like a 7 or gb...?? and have you tried graduating/ombreing more than 2 colors/levels? like a 6 to a 8 to a 9/10 etc...?
@CICCO811 I have played with many varying technques to execute the ombre as well as many types of formulas and effects. The lowlights were a level 6N I used neutral to keep tonal compatability so I can gloss it without tones clashing.
i love this if i go to a hairstylist how would i say i want my hair this way like the video so its just ombre hair and what would u recommened for me to go because my hair is naturally one solid dark brown im medium tan in skin color what color do u recommened would look good on me
@20ernestine There are many variations of Ombre. I suggest you google ombre images or describe this video and be certain to find a colorist who knows this look. Go for consultations to a few salons to find the experts possible.
Her hair looks much better, but I've seen better ombré looks.

Hi i was just wondering if you could please tell me what level base you used? i'm thinking 7 or 8 but not quite sure
Taytieo 9 months ago
@Taytieo I used a level 7 with heavy ash and a shot of green mixer for additional coolness to subdue her natural remaining pigment.
ericcharlesmokotoff 9 months ago
oh wow thats lovely! how long did that take?
TheLunaFace 9 months ago
@TheLunaFace
It took 15 mins to apply the base, 30 mins to process it. Then another 20 mins to apply the technique and 30 to process then 10 to gloss
