  • @toastmachineidiot the original Videos were destroyed because of the low Budget

  • @MrMariodave Actually, that might not be true (it's definitely not confirmed), but then again, Tony Palmer lied about owning the original tapes. When this movie was out on DVD, a sticker claimed it came from those tapes, but that was also false, so this isn't proving the tapes are still around either.

I did find out that the movie is out on Netflix, and it looks and sounds like a really high quality transfer from what might have been the original 35mm interpositive.

  • Ahhhh, it cuts off right before the best part!

  • Anybody know where I can download an mp3 of this

  • @acdcbonluver97 try listentoyoutubedotcom

  • One person listens to his asshole for music.

  • well,

  • if you like beefheart, zappa and other crazy blues/rock stuff you may want to check my channel! got a brand new video for you!!cheerz

  • I wish for a authentic DVD is released someday. I have the DVD that was released last year. I like that its not a boot but it looks worse than a boot. 200 Motels turns 40 this year so c'mon Gail! I know she wants it out.

  • @Jethrofinger I agree. I'd love to actually see a transfer of the actual videotape instead of a videotape of a telecine of a theatrical print (ahem... Tony Palmer... Voiceprint DVD...).

In the very least, they should make a fresh transfer from the original 35mm negative, which apparently was used to strike new positives when the film was re-released in theatres in 2009 or so.

  • Good God, I miss Frank.

  • @Benedetti08, that's Aynsley (Sly) Dunbar, later with Journey. The Mothers of Invention were a proving ground for three generations of musicians who cut their teeth and honed their chops in the arena that is Zappa music.

  • i f**king love this

  • is that the same drummer from santana?

  • @benedetti08 Nop!

  • Fuckin' amazing. Zappa was never one to stick to conventional rudiments, and it shows in his solos. Threes, fives and sevens instead of quarters, eighths and sixteenths? Mind blowing!

  • @dharmaseed he had a tuplet fetish...totally...

  • Grande Frank, me encantaría ver esta peli con subtítulos.

  • This is the best tune Flo & Eddie did with Zappa - filthy rock n roll at it finest. Delightful guitar spewage from FZ.

  • Why did you cut off the monologue at the end? I always liked that part!

  • flow and eddey were great with frank

  • I'm halfway tempted to burn this to a CD and swap it with whatever is in my school's music class CD player.

  • @bikemayer1 Yeah, I love Zappa's compositions, but in his solos, his phrases never really end.

  • @Doppelgamer Don't they? Why don't they? Why should they?

  • @Doppelgamer this is the most catchier solo i ever heard him play... it really depends on individual's music experience, how you are going to react on his tunes...

  • @bikemayer1 Your brain can't just follow the music. Go listening James Brown, yeah.

  • Sorry - but Zappa peaked in 1969 with "Hot Rats" - which was REAL music folks and the only time his "genius" surfaced. He also had some good stuff on "Freak Out" and "We're Only In It for the Money." When I hear "Flo and Edie" are involved, I run for the hills. TRUELY painful and agonizing. Why Zappa wasted his time with this is beyond me. His final Yellow Shark in 1992 shows - one last time at least - what he REALLY could do when he decides to make MUSIC. A very inconsistent talent.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic what are u , on glue? get your head out of your ass,err Genius

  • @PicnicHikeMusic The price of quantity affected the quality.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic Wow. You're obviously not familiar with Frank's work spanning decades. Have you ever even heard the '88 band?

  • @PicnicHikeMusic Flo and Eddie are music geniuses unto themselves. White soul up there with Cocker himself. Hey, why don't you go listen to your BEATLES records or some such smaltz, maybe some early TURTLES or something? Flo and Eddie are two of the most powerful falsetto vibratos ever. Unfortunately for you there are no Zappa hate sites, so you won't make friends with these blasphemous comments you leave here.

  • cool video...

  • ummmm this is unreal!!!

  • Ha Ha Ringo Starr

  • ooh the way you love me baby, I get so hard now I could die. Great line to open a song with.

  • Good new everyone, this finally out on DVD!!!!

  • So I've been seeing in a lot of reviews that a lot of people didn't like this movie because of Flo and Eddie, why is that? Acting or vocals? I loved them on both ends in this movie, I dig their vocals a lot, this is pretty much my favorite era of zappa. Their acting wasn't good, but I don't think it was suppose to be.

One of my favorite movies ever.

  • @SpaceRitual Agreed. Flo and eddie were my fave !!! Just another band from LA and chungas will be buried with me !

  • zappa for ever

  • that's the masterpiece of all the freaks in the world! my holy bible

  • For those that don't know. Frank Zappa IS God.

  • Trilobite: The answer is no one.

  • As I use to say : if the end of the world had to come, my Noah's Ark will be dedicated to this man.

  • I wish I could favorite this a thousand times over.

  • Classic Zappa, and my personal favorite

  • Christopher Biggins is excellent in this video.

  • Someone please tell me who has skill and talent like this nowadays. I'm bored.

  • too good.

  • Open up your pocketbook

    Get another quarter out

Drop it in the meter, mama

    Try me on for size
