    I disliked it...

    You're welcome.

  • @Turtan4 dude wtf..

  • lol wow is made with unreal engine. And UDK uses unreal engine

  • @defofsaradomin

Wow isnt made with unreal engine.

    It has it's own.

  • @Turtan4 well its based on the engine then

  • @defofsaradomin

    Wich one , this engine.

Or wows engine to unreals engine?

  • @Turtan4 wows engine is based on unreal

  • @defofsaradomin

    HAH And how is that?

  • @Turtan4 Dude please stop replying u win ok. Idc anymore if wow is based on onreal or got it own..

But now i'm here can u like this video thanks /watch?v=rxr0rTOQGbc

  • this how the Real WoW should look like

  • woohou thats awesome - think im going to get started with udk too

    thxx for this vid

  • OP your maps look amazing

  • Can you message me or make a step-by-step tutorial of how to get the models from the WoW folder, import them into udk, and add the animations? There aren't many tuts about this and the ones that there are, are outdated and probably wont work for the newest udk...they're extremely un-detailed. Thank you! :D

  • @xZaraki327x, Also how to edit textures. Like you said, i kinda just started and am a bit of a noob. :/

  • @xZaraki327x It's been a while since I did anything with UDK so I can't remember exactly. I know I used the WoWModelViewer to export the models as .obj files. Then I imported them to 3dsMax (you might be able to find a free alternative) and re-exported them as .ASE files which can be imported directly to UDK.

I didn't do any animation stuff so I don't know anything about it.

  • @exit0sus Yeah, ik lol. I finally found a tut on it...thnx anyway...btw, did you use photoshop to edit the textures? Some of your textures look kinda photo-realistic

  • @xZaraki327x I don't think you can export as .obj in the new WoWModelViewer its 7.0.1 r500 and not it has a .3ds option

  • @xZaraki327x I just downloaded the new model viewer and it does export as .obj (File>Export Model>Wavefront OBJ...)

However, the new version also lets you export as an FBX file which can be imported directly into UDK as a skeletal mesh (with the bone structure intact) so you don't even need a 3D modelling program.

  • @exit0sus Oh awsome! I haven't treied fbx because I didn't know which files UDK supports. But it's too late b/c I already found a serial key for 3ds Max lol. Oh well, I'd rather not use a 3d modeling program to convert...it takes too long. So thanks! :D

  • Thats fucking awsome!

  • Dude, I agree with Barnettbeans, i know how much work it takes to make something like this. Just wondering how long it took you?

  • @NeonPepsi

100 hours maybe to finish the Alliance side. I don't know exactly - I didn't time it.

Could be done much faster but I was a bit of a UDK noob when I started.

  • @exit0sus Well im no pro, but im after doing exactly this, wanna do things similar.. maybe other Wow Zones / Locations, or maps from other games..

How did you fing it? was it really hard, and im guessing you created most of the textures, if so what program? was it in UDK

  • @NeonPepsi It took a lot of time. I used the actual WoW models to keep things "simple" (exported the models from the WoW model viewer as .obj files) these had to be imported into a 3D modelling program (3ds Max in my case) and then exported as an .ase file.

The textures were redone in photoshop - the materials were put together in the UDK material editor.

It wasn't hard - just took a lot longer than I thought it would. Even with a small map and without doing the models myself.

  • @exit0sus aaah thanks that has help alot, Not very good with Modelling so thought i was gonna have a few problems, i am currently working on doing AB (Arathi Basin)

Got the Terrain Sorted just need to Find a private server to Scout the area out properly at least now i know how to get the models, Thanks alot dude

  • /Claps This is epic mate I use UDK and know how much work this is. Gratz

  • Your fucking insane! In the good way ;D Nice man

  • And now we have Warcraft characters inside UT3 too...just google "World of Warcrack Unreal3 Engine Kit"

  • lol tried to do that myself aswell it's a good idea but alot of work!

  • f.u.cking amazing!!!!!!!!!! great UTengine mapper!

  • Also, its too bad blizzard will never upgrade their graphics engine to something better..

  • The sky being very bright at night like that really makes everything pop. good work

  • shame no one plays ut3

  • you have to make your own textures. ...

  • AWESOME!

  • omg thats so cool

  • Holy Crap, if this gets done, it will be the LAN map of choice when me and my friends dig out UT

  • Just as an update since some people won't have checked the link in the description (the most up-to-date info is posted there), the zone doesn't look much like this anymore.

I've redone most of the textures and messed with the lighting a bit. There's a link to some screenshots in the first post of the thread.

  • My brain is melting from all the awesome.

  • VERY Impressive!

  • thats freaking sweet

  • Is this the UDK for UE2/2.5 or for UE3? There are some that are a bit curious and would love to get a 16v16 on in this map when it's done.

  • @sabledrakon It's the May (?) beta of UDK which uses the newest version of the Unreal engine. So unfortunately, this format won't work for UT3 :<

It'll have to be packaged as a standalone game unless I can find a way to save it as a UT3 compatible format.

  • nice recompiling skills

  • amazing work. cant wait to see the horde side

  • That looks pretty damn awesome.

Kudos, or kodos, depending on which you prefer.

  • Wow that looks almost identical! Good job
