Very well done episode. It definetly shows John's true nature, the man who Helen fell in love with. Its heartbreakingly obvious that he hates that creature and what it has made him become. That and that he will do anything for Helen even give up his freedom. Both Amanda and Cristopher are excellent actors they protray the pain of those two characters very well.

What an amazing episode! Heyerdahl and Tapping portray the nuances of their characters' very complicated relationship extremely well. This episode actually had me a little teary-eyed.

Personally, I want Helen to save Druitt as badly as, I think, both characters want her to!

I just noticed. In Stargate something always happened to Sam Carter's boyfriens or so. Usually they got hurt or something like that, and with Jack she didn't get together. YET (pay attention to yet :D). In here she has the same problems.

Strange that Amanda usually get roles where she under different cirumstances stays alone...

Every time John is around Helen is always conflicted about how she should feel about him/react to him. Honestly, if she has been that confused for over a century and still doesn't know where to go with all of this, she needs to LET GO. Even at the end, when he says he loves her, she still looks conflicted as to whether she should believe him or not. Every time she keeps trying to "save" him...there's only so far you can go before it's not worth sacrificing your own emotional health.

Druitts pain was so heartbreaking. He hates who is but his true nature - his good side- won out and he scarifised his happiness.
