  • @hawaiisidecar And yet so cool! :)

  • OH MY GOD!!! That sounds amazing!!!

  • @selophane43 Yes. It does!!

  • Candy glory red was not an option in 1980

  • Why is this moron alluding to such a bike as a "thing"..what a bafoon...

  • I'm a motorcycle enthusiast and a Harley man at heart...... But I would love to have this bike in my collection someday. The 1980 Honda CBX 1000 is such a beautiful machine!

  • It's a shame they don't make bikes like this anymore

  • You got to do the series of the other Hondas mate?

  • @sergiogon I haven't been back to that guy's house since I made this video. I'd still like to take a ride on his CB400F some day.

  • Give me the CBX and Ferrari Testarossa, and after that I can die :)

  • @dvamateur give me a CBX and a Testarossa, and I can sell them and retire (for a while!)

  • yea bro that was one of hondas big bikes back then but i dont rember it doing so well here in thes entirerely too top end heavy if i rember correctly

  • @kd4ysi first thing I noticed was how heavy the front end felt.

  • Bought a new one..1978...silver !!

  • @BIKERMETOO You bought it new in '78? Or is it new to you sometime since? Still have it?

  • Do you know how much is the fuel mileage?

  • @Karlitox23 The bike doesn't belong to me, and I only rode it the one time. I really have no idea! :)

  • Dear Santa...

  • @Karlitox23 LOL!

  • Comment removed

  • i have a 1978..they came aut in germany and scandinavia..one year erlyer then in the states

fine video..its give the right feeling..as driving it self..i have a cb 77 cb 400 four cb 550 and the cbx..they are all fun

  • @TheStrynboen The guy who owns this cbx has a really nice 400F as well. I hope to take it for a ride sometime also. Thanks for watching!

  • I was pillion on one in 83 as he popped a wheelie for almost a mile...What a bike.

  • @mikeatcora I wouldn't want to be a passenger for a wheelie!

  • Sounds like a 911!

  • @calimar28 It really does!

  • ya, it's sweet!

  • HOLY INLINE 6 ENGINE, BATMAN!

  • The one person who disliked this is a poop.

  • @gcon92 HAHA Must be!

  • thx - this helps alot! i was just looking for sound.

  • @Shoutagious Glad I could help!

  • My brother had one identical to this back in the day. A unique classic for sure. It really does sound similar to a Porsche 911. it was a bit top heavy tho' but still a great bike to own.

  • What a great bike...nice sound!

  • i ride a cx500 custom now but the cbx 1000 will be my next ride!

  • Sounds good.

  • Muito linda a moto, amigo... Meus parabéns ! ;D

  • @TheAllan2004 obrigato muito!

  • Cool bike and video, cbx1000 is a classic !! any more videos on others he has ?? wud like to see his collection..............please lol

  • @madwelshaber I hope to show a couple more of his bikes. Maybe this summer. (?)

  • Good helmet view...how do you arrest the cam so well ?

    BTW...great bike !

  • @themonth The camera, an old Kodak v570, simply sits inside the chin bar of my helmet.

  • Awesome bike!

  • I had exact same bike. Loved it!

The 85 mph speedo was a ridiculous requirement for the year.

  • @trojwl Hard to believe that I didn't notice the 85 mph speedo. What a laugh! My old (1986) Honda 700 had the speedo numbers in bold on the 5's, instead of on the 0's. 55 mph was like double bold!

  • vandi start cheyeda patti katha parayathe!

  • a work of art

  • how many rpm does she turn?

  • @turtlemann14 I don't really remember. 9 to 10 thousand maybe?

  • Sounds like a v6 car.

  • Had one in 83 mate. pig on ice. first bike to do the 100 bhp

  • My jaw dropped when I saw one first time in the '80s. The way it leans into a turn, it's so composed with its big "breasts", sort of like a beautiful sexy woman. Then there is the sound and the power. Very smooth machine. Still my favorite motorcycle ever.

  • @dvamateur Pretty cool machine, for sure. I was pretty lucky to have been able to take this nice example for a short spin. It probably hasn't been out of the garage again since!

  • Nice clip. No annoying tunes, no annoying wind noise, steady camera, good commentary with a sense of humor that actually conveyed what its like to ride this bike. Need more like this.

Oh and by the way, cool bike, I remember the late seventies when I had a Kawi kz1000. When the CBX and KZ1300 came they just blew our minds.

Almost traded the 1000 for a KZ1300 but didnt cuz the 1000 in reality was a better bike, more nimble and quicker. Now I wish I'd bought one of those sixes.

  • @idrivebmw335 Kind words. Thanks. I'm of the opinion that a motorcycle riding video with commentary (good or bad) is always more entertaining than one with only a music background.

The CBX is an awesome machine for sure, but back in the day, you were probably better off with the KZ1000 as your daily rider.

  • 2:02 proper lol. nice humour mate. what a bike :)

  • Really neat sound. I want one!

  • Thanks for that. What a classic! Love it

  • NICE Clean They did make those in 78.105bhp 1/4 mile12.2 sec never see these at all.

  • way too sexy

  • those 'old school' machines are the real bikes...the 'race replica' bikes the Japanese produce now mega-suck

  • The Best Honda :)

Honda - The Power of The Dreams ;D

    CBX 1000 have 30 years old...I'm want have CBX 1000 ;)

  • @patrrrick333 There probably are not many of them in Poland, but maybe you can find one someday! :)

  • Great video. I have always wanted to know what this beast sounds like. Nice looking and a real nice bike. Thank you for posting!

  • @cforssi My pleasure. Thanks for watching! :)

  • Six into one exhaust makes them sound awsome!

  • @jeffmoto72 I'd like to hear that, but I'm pretty sure that the owner of this one will be keeping it stock.

  • OMG !!! Now Im wanting a CBX

I remember 1st time I saw one of these at a bike show back in the late seventies.

Was so out of this world compared to everything else around back then, was simply stunning to look at, such a wide looking engine and 6 pots !!! was staggering to imagine it all. You can only imagine how many people drooled all over it, wanting it on there wish list, me included. I never did have one. :-))

  • @Bevoin1970 A very cool machine indeed. I'm lucky to have gotten the opportunity to take a spin on such a pristine example. I made this video about 2 years ago, by the way, and I'm pretty sure that the bike hasn't been out of the shed again since! This summer I'm gonna try and get out for a short ride on this guy's Honda 400/4 Supersport. Another awesome, lightly used classic in his collection.

  • @dprider02 I'd love to see this bike again in HD on a lovely sunny day.

You mention the 400/4 another classic bike. At the time I never fancied one of those, but today, now Im older and wiser, I'd jump at the chance to have one.

Wish I could see this chaps collection... ha ha. Nice to know there are people out there preserving this great machines for future eyes. :-)

  • My dad had one, but it kept overheating and somebody wrecked it.

  • Poweeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr

  • Very nice bike saw one in excellent condition at the Honda X4 rally in Germany , and boy did it sound nice

  • Bought a new one in 1979..SILVER

    Great bike..now A CLASSIC !!

  • PS : Honda Powaaaaaaaaaa

  • chouette machine

Je connaissait pas, je viens d'en entendre parler sur un forum

Un jeunot de 22 ans qui est amoureux de ce 6 cylindre, et je viens de la découvrir

    Une pièce de collection

  • peice of history!

  • Beautiful...bought a new one ( Silver ) in 1979..great bike...great sounds !!

  • Great bike indeed. Do you still have it?

  • Great video! Beautiful bike - thank you very much for sharing ;-)

  • Thanks a lot. Wish it was mine! :)

  • Evan is wrong. They were made from 1979 to 1982. I have a pristine '82 with K cams, Mac headers and K & N filters. Fast, yes but the "cool factor" of the 6 pipes sticking out the front makes the bike.

  • Just beautiful! That is the one bike that I want. I've got a ZX11 but so want a CBX to keep it company.

  • Very cool machine indeed. Hope you can find yourself a nice one! :)

  • I have a friend who took two CBX engines and made a V-12 out of it. He hand-built a space-frame for it, and uses 2 Weber 2-BBL fuel carburetors.

    Hand-made manifold and tank, etc.

It's beautiful and sounds unbelievable. Like an Offy V-12 or a WWII Merlin engine.

This guy is a genius - also built 3 bikes around Ferrari car engines.

  • That would be something to see (and hear)! Does he have the engine actually driving anything?

Wish I had skills like that.

  • A nice 1980 bike, is this a Japanese one or a Marysville bike? (should say on the headstock) Best pipes for one of these is the stainless steel Pipemasters system. Is the owner an ICOA member? (international CBX Owners Association)

  • Yeah, it's a good one. I can't answer your questions, though, as it's not my bike. I'll try and remember to ask the owner next time I see him.

  • yeah nice machine.....it was a good idea to fit aftermarket crash-bars....otherwise of you were unfortunate enough to slide the bike on it's side half of the engine would get wipe-out

  • class what a bike

  • Yep. One of the best !

  • One of the most beautiful motorycycles in the world, if not the most beautiful one! 6 cylinders, 24 valves, fantastic engineering. It went out of favor, because of the CB1100F, which was probably more efficient, narrower, and all. But nothing touches the beauty of the CBX. I consider the 80's a pinnacle of styling. Together with Ferrari Testarossa, the CBX is one of my favorite vehicles. Kawasaki GPZ900 was nice too, though. Top Gun anyone?

  • The way I understand it, the CBX came about through Honda wanting to showcase their engineering might and industry leading technology. What ever the reasons, they sure came up with an awesome machine! I'm very glad to have gotten the opportunity to ride one.

  • Im redoing a 92 Yamaha FZR 600 right now???

But im wondering if im wasting my time doing it instead of getting a nice bike like the CBX,

    Or even a Z-1300 Kawasaki,

Ill get a CBX and then cruise all over the place

  • Ive always liked the CBX and i wanted one for yrs and now im gonna get one,

the best pipe Ive ever heard is the older Kerker 6 into 2 pipes,

they really make that inline six sound good,

watch the vid on the one mounted at the rear wheel,

    it really sounds good,

  • I have no idea what the market is like for these bikes. Hope you can find a nice one, and treat us to some videos!

  • Thanks for your kind comments, All the bikes run perfectly and I do ride them occasionally , riding the 1926 Harley in todays traffic is a real challenge. I will take your advice and will publish in the future some clips on every bike in the collection

The death road in Yungas Bolivia is still there although no longer in use for regular traffic, now is only for mountain bikers , and they love it.

    Saludos

  • Very nice, superb sound, I have the same bike in Cochabamba, Bolivia, you can see the clip at motos clasicas CBB Bolivia

  • I just watched the video tour of your motorcycle collection. VERY impressive! Are they all runners? Do you ride them occasionally? You could make some interesting riding videos on those bikes, and I hope you do.

I also have to ask ... have you ever driven on the Yungas Road ( "road of death") down there in Bolivia? I have taken some bus rides through the mountains in Colombia ... it was pretty scary, but nothing to compare with that road!

  • they are a bit heavy but then I never had any high speed wobel, I had it as fast as 145, and I know it could have gone faster.

  • I wouldn't have thought the thing could go quite as fast as that, but I'll take your word for it.

  • it's actually 1,047 cc

  • I thought it sounded slightly over a liter. lol

  • i got the 79' cbx. well it's my dad's but i might get to ride in high school. :) but i i'm only in 8th so i can't wait!

  • His comment about how it would sound with pipes on it is bang on; I went from stock to Pipemaster 6-into-6 on my '80 and nothing else on the road sounds like it.

  • Good video, a really nice bike, I have a a 1979 one in silver which I am rebuilding, and the aim is to get it looking like new - and sounding like that - I do have a video loaded when it was 30 last Nov..Cheers

  • I watched the vid. Your bike looks and sounds really good. You should check out one posted by bbq4racin called CBXsound. Very cool!

Thanks for watching, and the "favorite" hit. Hoping to see more of your CBX.

  • yeah you're righ..porsche O.o well he shifted just as he passed by you, yeah I-6 smoother than I-4 but more high rev and power i guess.... i dnt like cylinders sticking out :P

  • Yep. If he had hung on to that gear a few seconds longer the sounds would have been MUCH better.

I'd like to own that bike ... just for the noises it makes!

  • WOW!

    i want one :P

  • Me too!

  • I have an 82.

    Addicted to the sound

  • The sounds that thing makes are just amazing!
