I was born on the thirty-fourth anniversary of his show's debut. It was the first african american led show on television and because he grew up in Chicago, like I did.

It's amazing to me how much people are obsessed with tenors these days. Nat King Cole is so well known for this song, the baritone of 40 years ago (him and Elvis of course), and yet we get all these rearrangements for a higher voice.
