  • Mike D did this layout. He featured it in two books. Scenery for your model rr and how to paint backdrops. Both by Kalmbach Publishing. Was also in N Scale mag and model rr mag. Awesome layouts.

  • You've done a beautiful job with your layout ! Are you a professional model builder ? I hope mine looks half as good as as yours does when I'm finished !

  • Really cool!

  • Are those locomotives whether at all can't tell

  • What engines are you using? + cool video I subscribed!

  • @SuperStewTV they look like Kato locos

  • Did Mike Danneman build that layout?

  • Nice.

  • great layout, what type of yrack do you use ?

  • Great layout i hope mine looks as good one day lol

  • that is awesome! Does the n scale ever get hard to use

  • amazing layout. what did you make your rock work out of? foam? it looks great. I am guessing bragdon insdustries. Anyhow would love to know what books or instruction that you used.

    thanks mike

  • Wow, incredible set!

  • IS their a video on how the scenery was made? I love the way the water and the rapids look. Ihave a plan to build my first layout in a 1,000 sq foot out building and i want it to look good. It will be a mash up of N and HO scale. N scale on one side and HO on the other. I would like to see some how it's done videos to give me more scope on my future layout plans.

  • WHo makes those trees?????

  • gREAT SCENERY. One of the best I've seen on youtube I recon. the lake is good, but the rapids are excellent.

    You've done this before.

  • Wow, this is amazing. Reminds me of the UP line that goes west from Denver and follows Hwy 40 and eventually the Colorado River. I'm sure that's what this is modeled after. Great job!

  • Cool layout. =D

  • I have some N-Scale coal trucks, and I love them! Mine are just a little longer and closer to the ground.

  • I saw one of these UP coal trains crawling through a pass when I was in Colorado.

  • Absolutely amazing.

    I have those river rafts!

    Excellent realism.

  • This layout appeared in the March 1996 model railroader magazine.

  • very, very, nice!

  • I'm pretty sure this is the layout by Mike Danneman. I know I saw it in the Model Railroad Planning 1996 issue. As others have said it's been in MR as well.

If memory serves the layout is only like 5x7 feet.

  • This layout has been in Model Railroader several times. ITS AMAZING! It was the layout that got me into N-scale.

  • On another note, in that article I referred to they used D&RGW diesel equipment, so might make it a bit easier to find with that.

  • It was in the late 90's, early 2000ish- this layout was in Model Railroader magazine on a step-by-step of how to build it. From what I can remember it was on the front cover to, so shouldn't be too hard to find it.

  • How big is that layout? End to end and width wise? It's nice. I'm wondering IF I have the space to do something like that.

  • I would like too see a steam engine pulling that load, but then again, its just my opinion.
