armenian culture is beautiful in ways nothing else ever can be. Turkey may have killed almost an entire generation of armenia's people, but never will they come close to erasing something as powerful as their unique expression through artistic means.
Genocidal turks will get what's coming to them. Almost as bad as the killing is the lies
and ethnic groups were provoked by the real emperialist forces, so unfortunately we lost the peace and this melting pot, anatolian culture..
we are all sorry about that, but the borders are not important ,we are still sharing same cultural things, and sometimes our hearts give the same reaction to the melodies such as arto's wonderful music
Armanian and Turkish people were really sharing culture and friendship in early and middle Ottaman times..ANd according to Ottaman empire's historical papers, Armenian people called like "tebaa-ı sadıka" -loyalist subject-..
And in Ottaman times Armenian people were really happy , they are interested in trade, art and craft..ANd maybe at the same time they were the main contributer to the Ottaman art and trade..
unfortunately during the first world war, Empire was attackted from everyside
this is just fantastic... love the look on all the faces how they realy are enjoying the music and it's coming from deep inside. but the look on the saxyphonist "with the red shirt" face is priceless.. he's loving it and i'm living it:o).... respect arto jan...
Thank you ainanor for your comment ...This is the attitude i want to see against turks. They should learn ,that they temporarily live in our land Western Armenia!
titer2000 you are welcome! I only said what is right, but seems that many turks get "offended" by it! I didn`t knew cruel nation can be offended by words, when they can offend our nation by denying the genocide of our people! Although there are some good turkish people, I have to say the majority are as awful as their ancectors if not worse!
Turkish music? you wish? for ages you turks have been trying to make armenian culture your own, but no luck!Even though you stole our lands!Real turkish music you can hear in Sentral Asia where you originaly came from! Arto is born in his own country eastern Armenia and his music is pure armenian!!!!
ainanor i am from greece.our coulture is infected from ancient times from asia, balkan, italy, africa even from ireland and even more far from india..the fhilosophers and the sailors had carry the coulture with them...in turkey Suleyman called musicians, poets, from the ottoman empire to live there..thats why if you go to istanbul you will notice a great respect and high educational level in art and music.don't mix politics and interests with people...this is an fasist additute only...music unites...
I don`t think you are greek just because you are from Greece! And second of all who is Suleyman? If you invite guests do you invite in other peoples house?what kind of respect are you talking about? does stealing someones lands, music and culture mean respect to you?what is disrespect then??
I am not being arrogant nor nationalistic, and I have no problem with any ethinc groups, but turkey has! One question, can you imagine someone killing your entire family and take your home and your land and art? Is that why you are gratful to turks as a greek? Armenian and greek lands are called turkey today, is it right to you? By the way in Armenia today lives many ethnic groups who have thesame rigths as armenians, that`s not the case in turley......
congratulations and thanx kalogerakias,it was so nice to read your sensible and humanist comments..especially among comments of hatred and racism.. i totally agree with you that culture is not an isolate thing,it always evolves, even enriches with diversity..and that's what it is in anatolia..Kalispera from istanbul!..
I'm a turk and I'm so proud that such precious people and such a precious culture is a part of my country.. Ve de görüyorum ki ermeni kardeşlerimizle aramızın açılmasına sebep olan ilkel ve aptal zihniyetin uzantısı,bu yorumların arasında da devam ediyor.
You guys argue too much on YouTube. Just watch/listen/learn. :D No disrespect intened but for those of you who try to convince the haters that this is great music... let the music speak for itself. :D
Turks like everything armenian to be theirs. They have menaged to take our lands our cuisine esc. But it`s armenian and not turkish! We never claim anything is ours unless it is! Turkish music = mongolian like it or not!
I did not say he only sings in Turkish. Of course he also sings in Armenian and different languages which I find great.Somebody below asked what language this song is in.That is why I wrote he sings in Turkish.Never mind,he is a great musician and makes fantastic music, I like all these cultural dimensions and differences we have got in Turkey.
i want to give a little note. he sings in Turkish but not understandable. he is singing in Turkish but in Armenian accent. that is his choice because this music is affected from Turkish and also Armenian culture.
zlatan1937 Do you mean we armenians can`t understand the difference between armenian and turkish language? It is for you not understandable because you are a turk! This music is armenian! Turkish and armenian has nothing in common at all! But you are free to dream off course ;-) lol
arto is livin in turkey. working with turkish singers. do you know sezen aksu? if you know well, you may know artos brother was a producer in TURKEY. so thats all our mutual things.
Yes he lives in Armenia occupaid by turks! I know who Artos brother was. I am sorry, but you seem to be confusing turkish and armenian cultures, because we have nothing mutual at all! If you turks like armenian music thats fine, but stop calling it your own! It doesn`t matter where armenians live, their art is known to the whole world!
I have been in some of their concerts, with all due respect, sometimes Arto should not be allowed to talk as much as he normally does. Other than he sounds like a little retarded, he is wasting people's time with his preachings. He should just play.

No se como se vive ahora , la hermandad presente.
Pero la herida antigua todavia sigue sin justicia. Armenia es una cultura que tiene muchas similitudes con Persia, es obvio.
