Yes, I was, but I don't take it out on dogs. Most dogs love this kind of attention. They like to run, be chased, etc. It was healthy fun. Don't worry about it!
There were very few precious, cuddly moments with this one. He was "on" all the time, and this little chase was quite mild in the grand scheme of things.
Since everyone likes this so much (even you, mellybs88....I can tell, you do), I'm going to start posting vids of our Siamese kitten, who will turn one year old on April 25 '07. She is just as wacky, and no chasing is required to get her going. Stay tuned!
He was diagnosed with separation anxiety after he tried to claw through the drywall when we left him in a room for one afternoon. He would topple over his cage and crawl through the slats after we put two huge cinderblocks on top of it. A few days after we got him fixed, he went to town so ferociously on a stuffed animal that his genitalia protruded past his furry "sheath" and didn't go back in for over two minutes. It looked like something out of "Alien".
I appreciate all the comments (even the negative ones.....you paid attention to me! How wonderful!). This video was taken in 2000, and unfortunately, due to family situations, I was unable to keep him. I don't know how to defend myself here, except to say that my chasing of him was all in fun, and that in most cases, he would go absolutely crazy trying to attack and play with our $500 camcorder. He was insane, almost literally.
At first it seemed cruel (I have 2 Bostons myself!)but then I realized "daddy" was just having fun. I think he seemed "unsure of daddy" kind of scared. But you kept reassuring him it was okay. I did pick up that your dogs feelings were hurt when you called him chicken. Go back and view your own video again and watch his eyes when you say that. Bostons are HIGHLY intelligent and sensitive. Next video, lets see how he reacts if you keep calling him wonderful names.
I love this video so much. I laugh every time I watch it because I love your little chicken dog and it makes me want a Boston SO bad. Hope you will post more.
Ok, When he's under the (computer?) desk he looks a little frightened, but when he's running around his tail's waggin and he's playing. I get the idea that that's how they play.
Thank you! I can assure everyone that the dog was not "terrified". 95% of the time, he would chase the video camera like crazy, so there was no fear. This may be my crowning "pet video" moment, but I'll try to find more.
Were you bulled at school, grow up.
