@LyndaHudson Never remake a movie, that has starred a star. Audrey's charm, which makes her movies what they are, can't be remade. It's just as impossible as losing your virginity twice.
I watched this movie last night on CBC.. I'm from a different era thats for sure, (im only 23) but for some reason i actually really enjoyed this movie. It seemed so real to me for some odd reason. Great romantic movie, I wish I knew of more oldies that were good like this one. Its nice to see something different, and with actors ive never seen or heard of before. Give me some more movies to watch, old, romantic movies... thanks!!
@ore0fllamp well, if you're interested in Audrey Hepburn, you MUST watch Sabrina, Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's. Also, Love in the Afternoon is a must-watch although it's quite rare to find nowadays--personally, i think it deserves more credit!
It's interesting that Henry Mancini was so well-known at the time that he received such substantial billing in this preview, even more than Stanley Donen.
@winstonlin143 Agreed, and I think it really paid off! She allowed herself to not be seen in the best light. She wasn't the cute little gamine anymore, she was a mature woman and much more dark and worldly than in previous years. But, of course, her trademark charm never waned. :)
There is another old saying that goes like this: "Do not waste your time on YouTube responding to mindless fools with nothing to say after you have exposed them as mindless fools."
Yes, I have exposed you as a supercillious bore lacking in intelligence; your comments are wholly without merit or substance.
I remember seeing this film years and years ago, and I think this trailer is misleading. It comes across as a sort of comedy. But its really not.
Also, this movie is very interesting in how it is edited. I remember when I saw Momento, I thought of this movie.. and I think I would like to see it again, but if I recall, it is rather depressing.
Audrey Hepburn is seriously the most beautiful woman of all time.
This film is truly a revelation. The ancestor of today's realism-driven dramedies (à la The Kids Are All Right). It's so layered, so nuanced, lead by great storytelling and incomparably charming stars. A gem in Hepburn's filmography, as far as I'm concerned.
@LVishere I think that's because you didn't grow up in that era or something in your life. But I think this is super romantic, better than a lot of romantic comedies nowadays.
this is one of my favorite movies of all time! Audrey is so gorgeous, real and charming in it, and she has amazing chemistry with Albert Finney. my heart aches just thinking about this hollywood masterpiece!
@jay230992 superb track my friend!! audrey and albert grooving thier thing to it near the end.The track is "congarocka".it's on the soundtrack which is on Amazon for starters.I cant find the song on it's own anywhere though even on any Mancini lp's. cheers....
One of the truly great features of this film is the way the bittersweet music of Mancini fits so perfectly with the script. Mancini was a master, and his contribution changed the film from good to great.
Everything is perfect here, the period changes..in flashback and again in reverse, audrey in one of her best roles..changing every time, with every crisis in her marriage, and...BEAUTIFUL in that plain red sweater, long hair and jeans!!. the music is wonderful..sweet and tragic, the direction flawless..yes, it,s a perfect movie. and the plot..something risquee for 1967. very actual indeed!!. carlos
Classy flick.

Hmmm . . . "a stretch for Audrey Hepburn as an actress."
You can hopefully renove your tongue from your cheek now, or who do you suggest should have played the part of Joanna, Shelley Winters?
eecortese 4 months ago
@eecortese
Brando loved Winters. Schmuck.
frickadele 1 month ago
@frickadele - Your comment is both irrelevant and impertinent, as I never mentioned Brando's name.
That said, your response would read infinitely more correctly had you said, "Brando loved Winters, THE schmuck."
Schnook.
eecortese 1 month ago
@eecortese
You actually think that Winters....
was lower on the artistic food chain....
than Hepburn.
Brando WAS higher on the food chain...
than you will EVER be.
Schmuck.
frickadele 1 month ago
@frickadele - You write your comments as one would write a Japanese haiku, but without the requisite subtlety and finesse.
Also hung up on "food chain." Should broaden your languaage skills, would help give the impression that you have an IQ above 50.
As for the name calling, you've used "schmuck" twice already. Yiddish obviously not your forte. Shelley, a nice Jewish girl, would not be pleased.
Now be a mensch and stop all this mishegas before I embarrass you further!
eecortese 1 month ago
@eecortese
You embarrassed yourself,
by putting down Winters....schmuck.
frickadele 1 month ago
@frickadele
I think I understand now. YOU, in fact, are her only child and son of Vittorio Gassman. You defend mamma very well. Bravo!
I can clearly see the resemblance. You perfectly personify her character in "A Place In the Sun" . . . a portrait of a man drowning.
Pathetic miscreant !
