  • ouch, the horns are very sharp

  • Oh goodness the clarinet in the beginning is a little off

  • Atheists may and do have profound feelings of wonder and awe and may be very responsive to music and art. Don't generalize. I don't know this composer but my son just played the vibraphone/xylophone parts at festival and I wanted to hear it again. It's a very lovely piece, very atmospheric.

  • The Low Brass is virtually non-existant. The many fortisimo parts should have them playing almost OVER the rest of the band IMO.

  • This is a really good job. This and Morning Star are my favs, but i love this one most of all because i played it with the Dallas Wind Symphony

  • he does not live by himself either. I have met the man and his wife many times. they are really the nicest people i will ever know! My band has a CD of maslankas music coming out soon...this is one of the pieces on it. I love it!

  • David Maslanka is NOT an atheist.

  • @mahler9scholar True. Not quite a Christian either. Just a very sincere individual

  • This is one of the most beautiful and emotional pieces I have ever had the pleasure to play.

I can't imagine my life without it.
