  • 1:12 Waaaaa-ha-ha-ha-ha Waaaaaaaa-ha-ha-ha Waaaaaaa-ha-ha-ha-haaa (lol)

  • Quitting feels so good. It is not legal in France, we have to give up to three months" notice!

  • And why the hell does everyone keep callin' Pinky a redhead?? It's very OBVIOUS that she's a BLOND! Are all these people COLOR BLIND or what?!

  • So what's up?? Pinky is takin' over Millie's personality or what? I'm so confused!!

  • So who are the three women? Millie, the old Pinkie, and the new Pinkie?

  • @NataschaO No. Millie, Pinky and Willie Hart

Tagline: 1 woman became 2/2 women became 3/3 women became 1

  • Now I like Millie and can't stand Pinkie.

  • Ever since that accident in the pool, Pinky became a totally different person. She starting hanging with the guys, drinking, shooting at the gallery. It's almost as if she brought out her wildside that was laying dormant for so many years.

  • @Theshark15z well, pinkie had stolen SSN and diary even before the pool accident...

  • I don't get this film. Why does Pinky think the appartment belongs to her? And were them old people her parents?

  • She has temporary amnesia and since she did'nt like who she was and where she came from she denied her parents and is now taking on the personality of the person she thought to be perfect, Millie. It really is deeper tho, she considers her self to be Millie and millie the back wards room mate she once was.

  • 2:30, tell em millie!

  • 6:15 - You notice Pinky licks her lips when she says "Tom."

    Wonder if that means anything.

  • that was some crazy personality switch with millie and pinky, especially that pinky did everything millie did, except better! another flawless performance by Sissy Spacek...

  • yep I love Mrs Spacek. Almost seen everything shes done. Some stuff is hard to find.

  • Shelly Duvall really gives a good performance in this movie. Hard to believe this is Wendy Torrance from "The Shining."

  • Roger Ebert's Great Movie Review (10/12)

    *May contain spoilers*

I saw the film first at Cannes, where it won the best actress award for Duvall (she also later won the Los Angeles Film Critics' award, and Spacek won with the New York Film Critics Circle award).

  • Altman told me the story came to him in a dream: "All complete. The story, the casting, everything." He wrote it down and tried to film it as he dreamed it. Like many dreams, it ends without concluding, and seems to shift toward deeper and more disturbing implications just before fading out.

  • In his DVD commentary, Altman speculates about the film's meaning just as a viewer might, acknowledges that some aspects remain a mystery to him, and provides a startling possibility about the film's last shot. The camera pulls away from the house where the three women now live, and pans over to a pile of discarded tires. "If you were to ask me where I think Edgar is at the end of the film," Altman says, "I think he's buried under those tires."
