Cob is actually in Secret of Monkey Island: you can talk to him in the pirate's pub in the beginning of the game - he's the one making publicity for Loom.
@gawka1 The original did not, correct. However the CD version from circa 1993 did. This 1993 version is the one I'm playing in the video. Steam's re-release in 2009 used this version.
Nah. It's just a random portal to anywhere in the LucasArts multiverse.
Don't worry about Cobb, he's safe and sound in the first Monkey Island game in a tavern on Melee Island, eager to talk to anyone who asks about his world of origin.
"i don't think i want to be part of this conversation" LOL!

holy cow, i havent seen this game in about 16 years? maybe more?
I played this when I was like 12 or 13, it was awesome.
I remember I couldnt figure out what the hell was going on at all for about an hour, but I finally got the hang of interacting with the environment.

I always laughed when I hear Bobbin scream like that. I kept on going through that tornado jus to hear it over and over.

This game is terrifying and hilarious at the same time. I love Bobbin's little comments like "I can't seem to hold onto this thing."

Man this game's voice acting is amazing!
HappyModder87 3 years ago 7
Agreed! :) It was one of the first to have voice acting, so I suppose it only makes sense they made sure to do it right.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
That's totally false. The original version of Loom (1990) didn't have any voice acting. The audio in this clip is entirely from the 2009 re-release!

Correct except for the part about it being from 2009. It came later than 1990, but maybe 1993 or so.

@silvermoonprod The talkie CD version is from 1992, I still have the original CD. :)

I thought you were able to see Bobbin's face during this part in Expert mode?
And yeah, Chaos was insanely scary when I was a kid.
slb1900000 3 years ago
I believe that might've only been in the original version; not the CD. The CD version cut out quite a few graphics.

I grew up on the original floppy disc version, and you never saw Bobbin's face.
gawka1 2 years ago
Only in the original version from the floppy!

Such a great game. Mandible's death stared me shatless when I first saw it, and I even got a bad dream about it once.

Chaos scared the shit out of me when I played this when I was 9.

Mee to!

Does Mandible remind anyone of Tarkin?

The bishop is quite the erudite little fellow, methinks.

So does Bobbin suck Cob into a plothole inside his face lol
Terestrasz 4 years ago
Heh. Well, they did mention never to look under a weaver's hood throughout the game.
silvermoonprod 4 years ago
Yeah, I think Bobbin says "If you fear Nothing, then don't look under this hood" in the DOS version.
Terestrasz 4 years ago 2
indeed he did :D
