This is a very unique way of learning songs but the one confusing thing is maybe which hand to use because people who are trying to learn this song from ear or by watching this video may not know exactly how to use their hands to play the right way, which could hinder their ability to learn.

@lornas15 An answer. You maybe downloading the wrong midis. Some people just don't include the lyrics in the midi files they make. You should also check in synthesia if it is being played (Not played, played automatically, you play, etc.)

Its actually not impossible, If you record yourself playing the background music or whatever you call it then you can play the melody to it, but if you have a piano its impossible.
