Your guitar arrangement on this song is very similar to the one I've been using for years. I use a capo over 5 strings like a drop d capo on the 2nd fret instead of going drop D. Nice job.

First of all, awesome job. This is the best cover on you tube of this song. So, I watched the video and learned how to play it but I have a question about the portion from 2:59 to 3:10. The sound of the melody seems to change a bit and your fingers are not moving to the fast picking that's taking place. I can't seem to figure out how you are doing this part. Yep, I mainly did it so that because I wanted it to sound "bassier" if you will...so I emphazied the bottom end more and just strummed chords without the fancing picking stuff. You're the first person who's noticed (and pointed it out, anyways)... sharp.

Re bagpipes - you can get a very similar sound using an ebow on the open D string while pickiing out the melody on the top string. Try it - sounds cool and amazes people!
