Actually this is a song about favorite desserts served from traditional Pennsylvania farm cooking. When I heard this song as a kid, I just thought it was nonsense words, just a silly kid's song, but then I found out what it was really about.
Tennessee. I thought she was a California girl: there's a street in Palm Springs named after her you see. But then again there's another landmark in Palm Springs connected to another Tennesseean: Elvis Presley!
How did the late forties and early fifties manage to hog all of the great singers and song writers. I have such affinty for this stuff that sometimes I think that I was a young man or woman who died in 1951--only to be reborn with a love of the music of my youth.
This song gets re-stuck in my head everytime I listen to it... everyone that hears me singing it is either like WTF or how do you know that song?? ...like it's an old people secret...lol
Hello my friend. All is quiet with the copywrite saboteurs. I've stopped uploading and letting my 717 uploads happily mature!. Will still put more up - if I find any!
Funny and oddly this is my chihuahua's favorite song lol I grew up listening to every kind of music imagineable and my mom used to sing this to me all the time...I play it when im in the kitchen cooking ( go figure) and I would find every time the song came on...my dog would come running in going nuts all happy lol I guess you could say it's our song :)
So, you're almost 110 years old?! If you're telling the truth,I'm impressed by your longevity. Although, I'm very sensitive, as in...(I sense when something smells rotten), but have at it kiddo!

Dinah Shore (born Frances Rose Shore) was born on this date in 1916. {Feb 29th}
Sadly, Ms. Shore passed away on February 24th, 1994... May she R.I.P.

This was a great song back in 1946. I have the 78rpm of it. I have lots of Dinah Shore records. I was 46 when this song came out.
