1. nirvana had cliche lyrics, where as AIC's were poetic( man vs self, man vs God).

2.The worst of Cantrell's riffs can easily destroy anything Nirvana ever produced.

It's funny. Duvall looks like Kyp Malone from TV on The Radio with the Grizzly Adams beard going on lol. Moving on to the bread and butter, it's real easy to hate the band, for reasons I know not. People need to give it a shot first on the album and see what happens. THEN you can decide if you still hate them. AC/DC went through the same thing after Bon Scott died. Of course, Duvall won't sound like Layne. No one COULD! He's not replacing Layne. He's helping out. Just give it a chance first.

if layne died in 1994 and the band came back the following year with his clone, then maybe it would be similar to what ac/dc did.

i don't see the new alice record doing well in terms of sales. the fanbase is split, the economy sagging and people aren't buying albums now to begin with.

I'm a tad confused. In what way would coming back with a clone of Layne following a reunion, has AC/DC ever attempted or would be similar to? And while I do agree with the sagging economy, I do know that plenty of people will indeed buy albums, video games and DVD's if they think it's worth it. The fanbase is still there. These aren't the kids of today. These are the actual fans of GOOD music. They bought tickets to see STP reunite as well AIC. So I'm figuring they'll spend to hear the album.

Actually a good bit of people bought that album. You can indeed look up the gross income of it, but I know people did buy it. However, bring into mind the beginning of the file-sharing craze that initially, while small, did snowball into a bigger thing. Further, while it may not have done that great, also realize there wasn't a lot of promotion for it. If you don't get promotion, no one knows about your current product. But I think this new album will get that and probably airplay.
