You need to get the skill "Signet of capture" Then, when you kill a boss that is one of your professions, use the signet on him, and you can choose his elite skill. You may have to do a mission to allow you to use signet of capture.
Pre-searing Ascalon. Its like the noob area :) Part way through the story, after the easy training missions, there is an event called the searing. After that you can never return to pre-searing ascalon (as its back in time) with that character (but you can make new ones).
You have to collect money and materials, to get a crafter to make armor for you. It will only fit who it was made for. About half way through you get basic looking armor, that has max armor value, but later in teh game, and with loads of cash and materials, you get cooler looking armor, with bonus stats sometimes. wearable armor is not a loot drop.
So does pvp have a story line too or is it just battling other players? And is their other players on Role playing? im asking all these questions because im thinking about getting it.

Well, All classes are very good. Its a simple matter of how you use them, and what you have fun doing. For me for example, I like melee classes, (EG: putting pointy objects into my enemies). However, some may like to raise an army of minions and go mad, and I have one friend who has an undead army, himself and two AI necros. this results in about 30 odd minions beating the hell out of anything in his way. Play each class a little, and see what you like.
well um funny thing, he is the most stuborn person i no,and he makes good comebacks, i am already a higher level than him but he has to be all tough and still calls me more noobish than he is.

Also, ventrillo, or "vent" is nothing to do with WoW. It is a standalone program, and can be used in the background, with any game running. Having said that, most GW clans seem to prefer Teamspeak, as do I myself.

Well, they are all great games, but if I were you, I would get prophicies AND Eye of the north first. Prophicies is a great game, but you need eye of the north as it's the newest and has the hall of monuments (or something like that) allowing you to get extras in GW2 when it comes out, via your achievments in the GW1 games.
Paragon buffs other players, and helps their morale, necros drain health, and summon minions, rangers use bow pets and traps, mesmer steal energy, and hex opponents, dervish do AOE with melee damage and enchantments.
And no, Prophicies (the first one) factions and nightfall are all stand alone games, that you can send on charater between if you own more than one, but for you to play the new eye of the north expantion, you must have another one of the games.
paragon is the guy with wings in the promo material, but ingame they only appear when you use a skill. Paragons are hard to play, i think, for a new player. Start with a simple class with paragon as secondary, and get used to it. then make one if you like it. Also, while I am here, WOOOOT eye of the north coming out soon, but its lvl 20 content, so be sure to get another one like nightfall factions or prophicies.
