@bandgeek2493 We drove actually. Took a van, got all of my stuff packed in and hit the road. It took us 2 days to drive down. Long haul there and back. Some students do fly, the disadvantage is you obviously cant pack as much and must rely on Walmart for most of the stuff you couldnt bring lol

Do u have 2 be a 12th grader in order apply  sooner? Or have 2 apply after graduation? Cuz I be 18 either way and I heard u have 2 be 18 in order 2 apply

@wishingt0befam0us I applied in August of 2009, right before I started school. But I had already been accepted to Penn State. So I'm pretty sure you need to be enrolled in a college or university as well.

@BroadwayChick18 I go to Penn State Behrend. It's a local branch up in Erie (where I'm also from) Scranton? That's awesome! I love the office haha I'm sure you get that a lot though. As far as your question goes, YES :D just about anyone can do the college program. The question is whether or not you'll get credit. That part depends on your major. I'm in business and received no credit for the college program. Put me back a semester, but I'm slowly catching and should graduate on time :)

@RoayaPixel Yeah you should be enrolled in a college or university to participate in the college program. There are spring and fall sessions. They are 5-6 months in length. I dont believe you can do just a summer. You can do the spring advantage, which starts in january and goes into august, but as far as just summers go, that's only for alumni of the program.

@JessyBeeee I completely get it. Now, I heard that who ever is in line next to you at the Check-in, will be your roommates. I don't know how much truth there is to that because the people next to me were not my roommmates at all. It's certainly worth asking though. I don't believe they would think anything less of you. @malux43 Hey thanks for the question! Okay, every job you get will have lots of hours, but it seemed like outdoor shows (Hoopdie Doo and Spirit of Aloha) sometimes got shorter hours because the weather could cause a show to cancel, which means no hours for the day. Attractions, merchandise, and quick service you'll get nailed. As far as housing goes.. I preferred Patterson, from the video above, just my opinion though.. you can read comments below for details. darn character limit..

so i saw you brought your flat screen, im planning on applying for spring 2012 and if i get in i was thinking of bringing my flat screen tv and hook my xbox up to have something to do, did yours have cable? or did you have to pay for service yourself?

@TheHollywoodRebel I actually did the exact same thing. Brought my xbox with my 46" flatscreen. All of the rooms have basic cable hookups. It was great for days off when you didn't want to go to a park. It was just to just kick back and hangout. Not to mention, it was great for music in the room. btw, the xbox/tv was in the living room so anyone could use. I didn't bring it out till I got to know my roommates more. Trust thing. You'll figure it out.

So how much money does one actually make in the end of the 5 months? since 170 for plane,110$ for rooms every week, 150 for groceries. 8$/hr. your basically paying for your stay???. Or you could save a decent amount working there? I have a phone interview tomorrow and idk if i should go :/. Interacting with people is not a problem for me, but how much free time do you have??

@romka4567 I understand. but we drove down, I didnt have a car left with me, so no gas (huge saver), I shopped on coupons, disney discounts and value foods.Typically, my lunches/dinners were at work on breaks. if I was off, i ate cheap. I was able to come up with a budget plan of $x per week and ended up coming home with a grand in my pocket. as far as free time goes, you typically get 2 days off per week, sometimes more (or less) depending on your work location.

How hard is it to get in the program? How about meeting people? I tend to be shy at 1st so I'm nervous about meeting people lol .. How's it working at Disney is it worth it? I'm applying soon so nerves r kicking in :p I'm also not big on parties r they that bad ? Lol

@imetmiley618 Well, to be completely idk how 'hard' it is. I couldnt imagine theyd have too many rejections. Nothing wrong with being shy. Just remember, you will be a Cast Member. You need to interact with guests. I absolutely love working at Disney. Best move I ever made. I didnt party either. I'm not going to say much about it other than it might be smart that you dont..termination is pretty easy with parties. I can send a message with more detail if you'd like. Darn character limit

@prinkgurl17 No they do not. You are responsible for your airline ticket. I drove down, only because I needed to get some stuff there that I couldnt check. Driving could be a good option, depending on how far away you are. It was an 18 hour drive for me.

@love5959 I think I'm speaking for every CP when I say, yes, Vista is the most "happening". And yes, it is also the oldest. I loved Patterson, it was new, clean, well kept, almost resort like. Disney puts together themed parties, and it seemed that most of them happened at Patterson, great for me because I was only 20 steps away from free food!! but as far as real parties go, Vista is the place.

@fun4life24 Hey, yeah you will be able to choose (sometimes) where you want to stay upon arrival. In our case, we got there earlier enough to choose where wanted to stay. I highly recommended getting to the arrival/check-in early. Also, if you havent done the roommate matchup thingy, then who ever you standing in line with will pretty much become your roommates (I think..)

@CobraKitNu Hey! It's totally cool. As a College Program Cast Member, you are not put up in dorms. You would be put in a nice apartment believe or not. The individual apartment rooms are not co-ed. But you will be placed in a building where your neighbors could be the opposite gender. They even try to get the ages about the same too, thats where wellness and nonwellness apartments come in play too. Feel free to ask away on any other questions!

@CobraKitNu Well first off, keep up the great attitude! I was the same way. I knew I was going to work there, and here I am! I'm turning 20 tomorrow, so still pretty young, considering this time last year it was still just a dream to work there. If you are as passionate for the company as I am, then you will do fine. Don't be dumb, act like you'd want Cast Members to act if you a guest.

btw, I did the college program as a freshman in college and did not recieve credit. woops! haha

The roommate matchup program was mentioned to me after I accepted my participation in the program (after you pay the $100), and it pretty much gives you a short quiz, similar to a relationship matchup quiz lol sounds strange, I know. They ask if you are clean, messy etc etc. The next day, I received an email with my roommates name. Found him on Facebook and we were able to plan on what to bring months prior the actual move it. Made it much less awkward too! lol

@hls1108 My case was different. I signed up for the roommate match-up after I applied and got accepted. It's a great way to meet your immediate roommate. I got his name and simply searched him on Facebook. You can then discuss the room size you want and stuff to bring. As for the other roommates, they just kind of showed up at the room at different times, and I did not see them anywhere near us in line at registration, or anywhere for that matter. The apartment was the first time we saw them.

@labellecongolaise Vista is probably the most "happening" (to sound like a parent..lol). Chatham is probably the medium of the 3. People will often call Patterson the retirement center of the College Program. While I would tend to agree with this statement, I will also say that I like how clean and new everything is here. Vista is old and rundown. I like how Chatham is set up. They have this townhouse kind of setting. Patterson and Vista is set up with buildings randomly dropped from the sky.
