I see it a smoke filled room in the basement with a lady and a dud two stepping a little nasty dancing and me i got a bab on by lap drinking the good stuff smoking a vicroy.letting the good times roll.
Man, I have never heard trombone like that. I always loved kid, being on the radio alot in syracuse ny in the late 80's Leo Rayhill's programming for an hour a night . I have over 200 hours of phenomenal recordings from Leo.
If you listen to the lyrics, they don´t have much to do with the original ones for the song. This isn´t Kate´s sister singing, more like her brother or father. "Keep off Katie´s bed." What a band!
Watching this I remembered that my first exposure to this type of music as a child in the '60s was at Disneyland in California where a 3 or 4 piece Dixieland combo would walk around 'New Orleans Square' playing this great music. It was probably the first time I heard live music. Buddy Rich also played there from time to time. I also saw the great flamenco guitarist Carlos Montoya in the late '70s at another Southern California theme park, Knotts Berry farm. Gems can be found in odd places.

Tempo "right in the pocket"...very cool...nothing beats authenticity!

for this style, yes but this is a shimmy-shake song not a slow drag. Listen to the version from the Alabama Jug Band from 1934!
