For some reason, I think Yang Mi in her younger days (such as this production) looked much more beautiful and striking than she is now. She's still a beauty, but to me, her beauty doesn't have that pull like she used to have. I'm talking gibberish lol..

I agree. She looks so skinny and haggard nowadays... she no longer looks as beautiful and innocent as she did when she first debuted. I like to blame it on the fact that she's had 4 teeth extracted due to filming, but I also think it's because she's aged quite a bit these past few years and lost all her baby fat.

This is my personal opinion... the main character is very pretty, but unfortunately, because she looks more like a modern teenage girl than one of those womanly beauties, I don't feel she fit the role that well. Of course we all have our different perspectives on beauty, but for me, I don't think her beauty does not fit the traditional chinese beauty. I think Rain Li was better suited for this role. But this is just my opinion :)
