Just curious; why did you use DragonSkin for a mould?

DragonSkin is for the casting.

Why didn't you use something like SmoothSil or MoldMax silicone moulding compounds?

heya i figured something out here :-D if you have made helmet made of fiberglass and paper. u can use it as a base mold. and then apply the silikone mold.

First off your videos are very informative and hilarious so thanks for posting them up. I was wondering if it was possible to use dragonskin on the helmet as a one piece mold. Since its super stretchy it could be pulled out from all the undercuts. Then the mother mold could be 2 parts. Ive just built a helmet for a film im about 2 make so im nervous about molding it.  LOL. check around the 405th, there's plenty of information on that sort of thing. You usually use bondo (body filler) to smooth models.

Correction: You use a stack of sandpaper to smooth the bondo that you put on the models. XD
