this is my opinion... after listen to cao ge version of singing this song... i dun really like the version of jay singing this song... but i have to say... jay really wrote a very nice song...
@erikasangels54 actually Cohner is right. In Standard Ping Yin, it's 'cao' and 'zhou'.
However, different Chinese-speaking countries romanize last names differently. For example, Wu (Standard Ping Yin) is also Woo and even Ng (Hokkien romanization). And Hsiao (Taiwan) is also Xiao (China).
What you said, 'chow' and 'chou' are merely variations of romanization. Standard Ping ying is more widely used.
@wwdr umm.. i think that china and taiwan both speak "chinese" but taiwanese people also speak taiwanese -.- but, just because its the same language doesnt mean that there arnt different dialects.. and its the dialects that result from thee different pingying.. OF COURSE ;D this is just my opinion ;P i could be wrong XD
it's correct, but jay's pinyin isn't very accurate due to his intonation... so different pinyins are used instead to let the singer(us) sing more accurately. This is chinese though :)
