That's a T-Mobile phone, but mine is unlocked and has an AT&T SIM. I updated it to Android 2.3.6 and it works very well.

Yea i was looking through every T-mobile phone, that's my company, but all of them were just physically unpleasant to my eyes. If you don't mind me asking again, what t-mobile phone have you had really good, if not the best experience's with? I'm in need of an upgrade.
@spiderman510925 As I mentioned, I like the Samsung Galaxy S 4G. It has a nice display, it's an excellent size/weight, and it has a good battery. Updated to Android 2.3.6, it is smooth and stable. Better still is the Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Sensation, but they are bigger. In my pocket, the Galaxy S 4G works best.
I also would take either, though I enjoy the iPhone browsing, it's quite fluid and enjoyable. Though what I enjoy the most is being able to customize a phone anyway I want it, and the closest thing to that would be the g2x. Unless of course you jailbreak the iPhone.

@wirefly Thanks. I'm going to return this one and hope the problem doesn't continue. I've had to shut my phone down multiple times thanks to some of the apps freezing. On some occasions I can't even open the Market to browse apps without the phone stating the app has frozen and asks me to either wait or force close out entirely. Even YouTube gets glitchy. Sometimes when I want to shift the video from normal view to wide screen, the video just pauses and locks in normal view.

Fast browsing, seamless touch screen capabilities and such, and a good camera, even tho the front screen screen is absolutely horrifying to look at compared to the IPhone's. After 2 weeks, however, the phone drops calls, apps constantly freeze while just loading up, and the accelerometer reacts harshly
@xomgPocki ...The clearer retina display MORE than makes up for the lack of 5 centimeters. And I HAVE an LG G2x! The G2x is great at first but has entirely ZERO durability and reliability. I've had mine for 6 1/2 months and truly wish I would've gotten an iphone.
iphone os is ugly lol thats enough for me to go with the g2x, some people say its stupid but its not honey you have to see it everyday, ios looks so monotone and bleh whereas android is sparkly and pretty

I have a Motorola DroidX2 and you can use that as a hotspot. I mean, come on the I phone don't even have a duel core chip set. The only thing that the IPHONE had going for it was "Facetime", but honestly google and android took care of that, real quick. The IPHONE is done. Android devices are coming out way to fast and are on different carriers, the IPHONE is one product and can't deliver quick enough to keep up.

@wirefly I love my phone. I am not getting the DROID3 because I don't need a the external keyboard. My parents need new phones. I seen this and it would be perfect for them. The price for the phone plan is cheap compared to Verizon. I pay 130.00 a month and that includes 900 mins, unlimited data and text, but I think that is still over priced. I believe the DROIDX2 was the first phone with a duel core chip set.

If keeping the monthly price low is important, check the HTC EVO 3D for Sprint. Wirefly now has a great price on the EVO 3D, and Sprint's monthly rate is highly competitive.
This review is spot on. Don't forget the HDMI out . No Widgets? Notifications suck, always looking for a place to plug it in and charge. Sorry iPhone loses hands down.

You don't even have to root an Android phone and you can get a whole bunch of apps for free. You just go to a website like 4shared and download apps from there. Heck, there's even a free app for 4shared on the marketplace. Sure, theres a more variety of apps on the app store, but developers are making the switch to the marketplace. You guys have flash player? Oh boy, we have it pre-installed! I thing I like about Android is the flexibility and freedom you have.

You forgot a major point about the G2x, it runs a dual core 1ghz processor . Iphoney could only dream of that .. Great review. Not hating but the iPhone is old with no changes in its OS while Androids keep getting new features as soon as a newer version comes out. Android phones are the best...well the newest ones lol

@Christopher723509 I did a review of the DROID 2 Global, which is slightly upscale from the DROID 2. And I did a Schmackdown video with a spinoff of the DROID 2 called the DROID R2D2. Really. It's a version of the DROID 2 that's been detailed with Star Wars graphics. You should be able to find them if you look around.
@wirefly I found it, and honestly the only difference I see is that you can use it anywhere in the world. And I have heard of the Droid R2D2. I am a HUGE star wars fan and I kicked myself after I heard that was coming out haha.
@Christopher723509 The DROID 2 Global has a 1.2GHz processor, vs. a 1GHz processor in the DROID 2. That makes the DROID 2 Global a bit faster, but it's not a huge difference. (In fact, the DROID 2 Global was the first phone to be released with a 1.2GHz processor, and there are still very few of those.) Otherwise, the two phones are more or less the same.
iOS is a very complete operating system... since 2007. And almost no design development! And those animations may be nice for some days but almost everything action on the iPhone lasts 2-10 times longer!
Back when i got my first touchscreen phone 3 in screens were average and 3.5 was perfect i love 3.5 its a perfect size for me maybe 3.7 nothing above that.
Ha well before you correct me he said the iphone only had 2-3 screens besides ive had cells phone since 98 but i want to mention ive had the mytouch moto cliq htc her samsung moment and epic 4g htc evo 4g iphone 3gs and now iphone 4 so im familiar with screens so suck on that loser hahaha some people

maybe it was said on a prev comment but the iphone can have more screens if you have more apps it just will give you the amount of screens you need at the moment depending on the amount of apps again...and when the gentleman was deleting emails...no the icon he was pressing was for something else to delete since its a gmail it was the icon to the left of the one he pressed...i can only imagine when the iphone has flash or html 5 nothing will stop it i have had 5 androids and finally got an iphon

@psachse31996 I think if you check, you'll find that the two app stores are roughly equal at the moment. As for home screens, I generally review phones as they come out of the box. If I modify a phone from its standard configuration, then it's not a fair comparison against an unmodified phone.
The only thing I can admit is the iphone is beautiful. The retina display and the design is wonderful. Sadly it's like a super model turned house wife. Doesn't do a thing but sit and be pretty. My droid X may not be pretty but it gets every job done. And done well.
You know how if the phone freezes then, at least with android phones, you jus take the battery out n reboot? Well how would you fix that on the iphone? My friend says you just have to wait till its dead /:

@Wirefly: There is more than just numbers when it come to resolution, sir. For Example Androids that are coming with 960x540 are better than 960x640!! Why? Well, that's because 100 doesn't make a huge difference in clarity of the screen but on the other hand the 960x540 make an aspect ratio od 16:9 which makes an awesome device for watching HD movies and videos.. but the 960x640 sucks with 4:3 aspect ratio...
@theman7431 If you weren't American you wouldn't need an explanation but oh well, i'll explain, When you make a review/smackdown, you make it with what's available either out of the box or as a part of the device ecosystem ...

@ProducedByTheWinner It's possible that the G2x you have is defective. You may be able to return it and get a replacement.
Just a thought... in two weeks, have you shut the G2x off and re-booted it?

So, am I the only person that buys and Iphone and Jailbreaks it??? Cause my Jailbroken Iphone 4 has widgets, flash and way more apps then the android market!! And yes, I do have both of these phones!! I think the g2x is way to big but that's the only complaint!! It is an awesome phone but it's not better than the iphone!! No phone has a better display, is more responsive to touch or has a better feel... My wife gets every phone that comes out and they all fall short to my Iphones!!!

Great review. Not hating but the iPhone is old with no changes in its OS while Androids keep getting new features as soon as a newer version comes out. Android phones are the best...well the newest ones lol

I'm (finally) migrating from Symbian. I'm not a 'fanboy' of either system yet, but everyone I know w/ an iPhone is always bitching about it.
The iPhone4's resolution seems a bit outclassed by the a dual processor, 1080p, memory card, FM, 1.3mp front camera & 4" screen.

It's all about the Droid 2. =] Although they are very nice phone's, and iv'e had the pleasure of tinkering with both. I always come back to my Droid 2. Do you have a review video of the Droid 2? I'd like to hear what you have to say about it. Take care man.

@Christopher723509 I did a review of the DROID 2 Global, which is slightly upscale from the DROID 2. And I did a Schmackdown video with a spinoff of the DROID 2 called the DROID R2D2. Really. It's a version of the DROID 2 that's been detailed with Star Wars graphics. You should be able to find them if you look around.

@wirefly I found it, and honestly the only difference I see is that you can use it anywhere in the world. And I have heard of the Droid R2D2. I am a HUGE star wars fan and I kicked myself after I heard that was coming out haha.

@Christopher723509 The DROID 2 Global has a 1.2GHz processor, vs. a 1GHz processor in the DROID 2. That makes the DROID 2 Global a bit faster, but it's not a huge difference. (In fact, the DROID 2 Global was the first phone to be released with a 1.2GHz processor, and there are still very few of those.) Otherwise, the two phones are more or less the same.

iOS is a very complete operating system... since 2007. And almost no design development! And those animations may be nice for some days but almost everything action on the iPhone lasts 2-10 times longer!

Back when i got my first touchscreen phone 3 in screens were average and 3.5 was perfect i love 3.5 its a perfect size for me maybe 3.7 nothing above that.

maybe it was said on a prev comment but the iphone can have more screens if you have more apps it just will give you the amount of screens you need at the moment depending on the amount of apps again...and when the gentleman was deleting emails...no the icon he was pressing was for something else to delete since its a gmail it was the icon to the left of the one he pressed...i can only imagine when the iphone has flash or html 5 nothing will stop it i have had 5 androids and finally got an iphon

and seriously if you look at galaxy touch wiz it can have as many pages of apps as iphone AND still have a bunch of homescreens with widgets... suck that betch

@psachse31996 I think if you check, you'll find that the two app stores are roughly equal at the moment. As for home screens, I generally review phones as they come out of the box. If I modify a phone from its standard configuration, then it's not a fair comparison against an unmodified phone.

The only thing I can admit is the iphone is beautiful. The retina display and the design is wonderful. Sadly it's like a super model turned house wife. Doesn't do a thing but sit and be pretty. My droid X may not be pretty but it gets every job done. And done well.

@Wirefly: There is more than just numbers when it come to resolution, sir. For Example Androids that are coming with 960x540 are better than 960x640!! Why? Well, that's because 100 doesn't make a huge difference in clarity of the screen but on the other hand the 960x540 make an aspect ratio od 16:9 which makes an awesome device for watching HD movies and videos.. but the 960x640 sucks with 4:3 aspect ratio...
