  • I never knew that Geoffrey Wheeler took over from Tarby! I remember him as the voice of WTA.

  • @pinkduvetdiva Geoffrey Wheeler is probably a rarity in the gameshow world in that he not only did VO then presenting duties, but also devised the format.

  • Erm...was this the golf type game?

And does anybody remember the name of a game show where there was a giant keyboard and I think they had to spell out words correctly....and it had the 'dreaded stinger'?

I have been looking for it. :D

  • No that was Full Swing which aired on BBC1 in 1996, Winner Takes All was a gambling type of quiz show, the game show with the giant keyboard and the stinger was All Clued Up which was produced by TVS and ran from 1987 until 1991.

  • Oh thanks tons for that. It has been doing my head in trying to think of that game show. Big kiss from me for giving me peace of mind. :D

  • I know you posted this 11 months ago, but thanks for the answer of "all clued up" I have been searching for this one for a long time

  • the name of that game is the $1,000,000 chance of a lifetime with jim lange as the host.

  • please upload it i would love to see it again. many thanks.

  • Christ! how dull was Geoffrey Wheeler kids?

  • Actually it was Bobby Davro that hosted the version made for Challenge.

  • Challenge/ famliey channel RE made this gameshow with cheggier!

  • i saw that episode loved it, did you tape that episode? i'd love to see it again

  • I have recently received a DVD featuring the last ITV edition of Winner Takes All from 1988.

  • @allenjeremy So are we ever going get to see this whole episode of winner takes all that you claim to have?

  • Challenge screened it in 2002 as part of the Cult Selections but I don't know if they still hold the rights.

  • i have only seen geoffreys last episode in 1988, i'd love to see all of his episodes, any ideas of how to get them?

  • Well in 1987 the set used had the same style as the one in the clip but with a different colour scheme.

  • Yorkshire Television did all sorts to Winner Takes All when old Tarby left the show like turning into a weekday show and selecting Geoffrey Wheeler to replace Tarby as he had left to do Tarby's Frame game

  • Tarby's Frame Game was also made by Yorkshire Television

  • how can u tell its the 1988 series?

  • this sequence was the best and a great host too
