  • The first couple of books are aimed at children, because that's what JK wanted. The last few books are darker, and more adult. This is because JK wanted the readers to grow older with the books.

  • ALL HAIL DUMBLEDORE!!!!!!!

  • I see that Invader's zim's , Batman: TAS, Ren and stimpy, and Rocko's Modern life are listed as your favorite tv shows, despite all of those shows being aired on children's networks. I guess by your logic, you must be into "childish humor" since you watch tv shows that were primarily targeted at children, rather than a "clever and adult " show like Family guy.

  • @Pentazoid111 Man, I must've really hit a nerve with you.

  • @XOmniverse

Its because deep down he knowns that Harry Potter sucks.

  • WTF IS THIS SHIT

  • Harry Potter is not for kids or adults. Harry Potter is for people.

  • Harry Potter is a good series. The writing is very well done and the characters are very real (if slightly shallow). I still reread them. Sometimes you just need a break from life.

(Oh, and yes, I heard nothing you said. White noise overload?)

  • What is up with the sound, I can only hear white noise. Btw I heard Terry Pratchett mentioned, I love him (in the admiring/respectville way, not the homosexual way).

  • LOL i'm 20, and sometimes I still don't get parts of Harry Potter cos it has difficult words and stuff... i cant imagine kids reading it haha

  • @KimiKatKK that because you're retarded

  • "Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves...When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

  • @selphiexfairy I concur. I would first say that my attitude towards children and child-like things isn't the same now as it was 3 years ago when this video was made.

I still feel annoyed at the idea of grown people ONLY reading Harry Potter, and even at ONLY reading fiction. I have trouble thinking positively of someone who never grabs a non-fiction book and reads to learn and know more about the world.

  • I think that children's books are THE most difficult type of stories to write. My favorite author is a children's books author: Roald Dahl. I bet you all these authors who write for "adults" would'nt be able to write a successful children's book if their life depended on it. I don't read children's books exclusively, but there's anything wrong with Harry Potter either. Saying it's the "death of literature" is an exaggeration. I've never met anyone who *only* reads Harry Potter though. :P

  • whats the damn original viddeo

  • I've read Harry Potter and loved it. If it's a kids book, why bother with it anyways? That would be like going online and talking about how much barney sucks. I read many, many other things. Reading is my favorite hobby, Stephen King, Poe, Dickinson, well, you get the point. Anyways, yeah I'm 12 but I know adults who read and love Harry Potter and many other books.

  • I do read other things, but I love Harry Potter. :}

    I read everything.

  • I totally agree with you. People all the time only read Harry Potter and not anything else in there entire life. I love the Harry Potter series, but people really need to start to open their eyes a little more and read other stuff besides Harry Potter, which I do anyways. I read a lot of books, and really Harry Potter is the only children's lit that i actually read. But, I love the series, however, im glad that someone finally pointed out this problem, thanks.

  • go fuck yourself....

    harry potter rocks....

so many people have grown up with it, and its inspiring....

i read Wizard's First Rule and it COMPLETELY SUCKS BALLS!!!

  • I don't know a single person who's read Harry Potter and nothing else. Have you even read Harry Potter? Because I have and 1) it didn't stop me from somehow making my way to "Slughterhouse-Five" and "Lolita", and 2) just because a book is targeted for kids does not mean it is simply a kids book.

In the videos I've seen of yours so far, all I've seen you do is making idiotic generalizations.

  • hei! nerd, if you like fantasie, what about lord of the rings?

and why dont you talk about real boock like voltaire or dostoievski?

    bah....

  • Have you actually read the Harry Potter books? You don't know how naive you sound in this video. But what annoys me the most is when you repeatedly say that people who read Harry Potter only read Harry Potter. For thousands of people this series is why they became avid readers.

  • I also like Northern Lights and the two following books from Phillip Pullmann.

But do you know what is the best story ever made? Berserk.

  • I love Harry Potter, but I'm also a huge fan of Terry Brooks, Stephanie Mayer, Anne Rice, and Tolkien(to name a few). I'll definately have to check that one out also.

  • I'm curious if The Sword of Truth is dark or darker than the "The Wheel of Time" Series, if you read it?

  • AND... If people prefer to read only Harry Potter they are entitled to do so! id that makes them as you put it " a fucking retard" then so be it!!! May I add, you have NO right to say such unkind and rude things to people you have never meet. In my mind, they are a better person than you for they at least did not spew this filth on youtube!!!

  • I love harry potter and it IS good literature. and just cause it's a children's book doesn't mean it SUCKS! Who says its for 12 year olds??? EVERYONE can relate to harry potter! Perhaps you're not intelligent or open-minded enough to understand the level of depth that Harry Potter has!!! Has that ever occured to you?!

  • @manmanmanIAM MEGALOL. Read Faust people...

  • @manmanmanIAM The books are children books and are manufactured commercial unoriginal cheap fantasy books and the movies have the same story every movie

theres a bad wizard and harry defeats him

the movies have shit writing there is no character development, original plots, emotional realism and all the characters are vapid stereotypes

read a real book like 1984 ect please educated yourself twilight and harry potter are not good stories or well written

  • @manmanmanIAM

You're absolutely ignorant. Try comparing HP to books like 'Remembrance of Things Past' and 'War and Peace' and you might weep. Aside from Rowling's shockingly poor grammar, last-minute plot twists and banal, childish prose, there is the whole opinion that 'hype'='talent'. Harry Potter is a good book. It might even be a very good book. But it is NOT literature, and frankly, I don't expect someone who uses three exclamation marks to know what good literature is.

  • @ambereyes93

JK wend to grammar school and planned all the plots for the seven books for five years before she even published the first book. I would LOVE to see your feeble attempt at writing better material than her.

  • @annie10103

I don't deny she worked very hard at her books. And it's not about someone who can do better - it's about someone who knows better. You think half those judges at ballet performances can turn a single pirouette? But if you want someone who can actually do better, look up Ursula le Guin. She's a far superior writer to Rowling, and has, on more than one occasion, criticised Harry Potter.

  • @ambereyes93

Thank you for your advice, but I am not willing to read a random book which I won't enjoy, and which probably has very little imagination to it.

    But thanks anyway... :]

  • @annie10103

    Your choice, dear :)

  • @ambereyes93

You are probably the first person who I have conversed with about harry potter, that has actually accepted that I have my own opinions. So seriously this time, thanks :-)

  • @annie10103

Haha. I still hold that HP isn't great literature ;) But believe what you will.

  • @ambereyes93

You're entitled to your own opinion, just remember that other people are too.... :)

  • lol people like harry potter because it's so easy to read. Why would the typical person want to slightly jog their brain by reading a challenging book when they could watch tv instead?

Harry potter to the literary world is essentially the same as cartoons to cable television.

  • right... I'm sure you're an advocate of Terry Pratchett too. The fantasy you extol is nothing more than book-fiction's version of the graphic novel. Cute little elves, mages, clerics, evil demons and orcs or goblins, all cycled over and over and over ad nauseum. Its BS and you know it, and there's a part of you that doesn't want to grow up, cut your hair, and be a man But, hey, you want to 35 and still be 12 mentally, it's a free world in that manner. Now get back to your elf brown study

  • Look, if you want to continue to make an idiot of yourself, go ahead. I'm done with your trolling though, so you'll be talking to yourself.

  • @gje313 Troll of the day. Okay this is a year old...still troll of the day congratulations.

  • You're the one making a blanket statement about a large and diverse genre. That seems more childlike to me than defending the work of an author who doesn't write childlike, escapist literature.

  • ahhh.... you know, if you really wanted to read something of worth and something that shows you grown past the age of 12 mentally, maybe you would pick up something like a history book by someone like Howard Zinn or Christopher Hitchens or a science book by Sagan or a "real" novel by George Orwell.

    fantasy = escapism = child-like desires and cares = mental junk-food

  • Terry Goodkind tackles philosophical themes in his books. He doesn't write escapist literature.

I like Orwell and Sagan. Hitchens is just a statist tool.

  • dude, I looked at the books you read on facebook and harry potter when asked the number of books you have ever read and harry potter wasn't selected. Don't go criticizing harry potter if you never read it yourself.

  • At least people are ready books, whether they are reading HP because its the trendy thing to do or otherwise; I bet those adults who read HP didn't even make it a habit of reading novels before they've picked up harry potter;

  • Granted, Harry Potter is not good literature, but I doubt you're going to sway people towards your recommendation by highlighting its.... torture scene? Really? That's not what most people seek in books.

  • Harry potter is so terribly written that I couldn't get through the first one. IT WAS STUPID!

  • There was this legendary English teacher that just left my school and he coined Harry Potter perfectly:

"Harry Potter is for thick children, and very, VERY slow adults"

  • Lord Of the Rings was GREAT

Harry Potter was for all ages, which makes it very interesting.

If you want to read SHIT, read twilight.

    The Twilight books SUCKED!

  • When did rosie o donnel start doing book reviews?

    Fat dyke

    Anyways, HP ftw

Go rag on Twilight with your cave man lookin ass

  • It's your opinion..but I like Harry Potter a lot....and many other fantasy books. And btw relax! It's mostly the book for kids.

.But if you want to see real crap read Twilight...

THAT is my friend the very greatest mother*ucking bullshit on earth.

  • Hey! I'm 12! Just to let you know, you may not like it, but it is not a piece of crap! If you just knew all the research behind it. I happen to like both LOTR AND HP! You want REAL crap? Go read twilight. What is the deal with religion and HP? basically all my friends go to church and have read HP.

  • i read the first 4 potter books and i couldnt read any of them past the age of 10. it just started getting too predictable. if you want sophisticated fantasy, id say go to Mr steven king. The Dark Tower is absoloutely phenomenal.just make sure your at least 15 reading it though, it most definiteley isnt for the under 11 s.

  • @brosignal Im sorry, but you're really missing out. Harry potter gets really really good after the 4th book. (not to say that the first four werent good) The caracters evolve so so much. The caracters get so complex and the storyline becomes so brilliant that it's not even funny. You should definitely pick them up again

  • You obviously sound like you've never read these books. Harry Potter is ageless, no book has one age target. I think you should go read Twilight AND THEN think about what your saying here

  • Dude, there is a scary trend in this country where stupid people who usually don't read are now devouring poorly written series-based books. Harry Potter, Da Vinci Code, and now Twilight. Stephen King's Dark Tower series was probably the best series I've ever read, but people seem to have the idea that reading is ONLY for entertainment. Plus, I think a lot of times with art, the more popular something is, the higher the chance that it blows.

  • agreed. The dark tower is excellent. i started readin it around two years ago and im nearly finished.the only fantasy books ive read better than LOTR.

  • No book is better than Lotr lol, Lotr is like the Beatles among a pile of emo shit.

  • dont get me wrong, i love the lord of the rings, i just found this series more to my taste.nothing will beat LOTR movies though.

  • i can read other books besides harry potter n its still a children books. so like what, people should read adult books in some point of their life so they dont look stupid or feel ashamed? that' dumb. n that guy whom u said did a great job on bitiching HP is a total phyco n going bonkers, he need a little magic to get his head stright again.

  • No just go back to the classics. Honestly don't dismiss books as some intellectual boost. They are that but they are also the most intimate relationship two people can have. An author gives you hours worth of his most meditated, darkest thoughts. Reading can change your life and it has certainly changed mine. The power of the book is manifest in the Bible, sometimes people forget it's just a fucking good book. xXx

  • you lardass atheist fuck. no one likes you. LMAO all these comments are negative on your videos

  • did Jesus teach you to say that?

    idiot

  • What thinking? Who needs to think when they're reading bloody Fantasy novels? I honestly believe that Harry Potter is highly more sophisticated than most fantasy novels.

Fantasy novels were made to enjoy, not to challenge you intellectually. If you'r a fantasy novel writer, GREAT! If not, than it's just reading for FUN.

You are not going to be smarter because you finished every single books written by J.R.R. Tolkien.

  • Do you think that you are special or superior reading heaps of different books? Is it your escape from your life?

  • No. Why would you assume that?

  • I read the Wizard's First rule, and I found it amazing. Thanks for letting me know about that wonderful book. however, I still prefer Harry Potter.

I also wanted to point out that Harry Potter is NOT targeted at kids only. I know many adults that read and enjoy it, including many of my teachers, I know seven years olds that read it, fifteen year olds, etc. Rowling actually wanted the target of Harry Potter to be adults, but apparently, many children and teenagers took a liking to it as well.

  • Just because some guy on Youtube said HP fans don't read anything else you believed him, oh please. You don't see anything wrong with that? I started reading HP when i was 7, and I am proud to be a fan. But, of course I read other things! I read LOTR in 4th grade and again recently, I read Fahrenheit 451, salem's lot, and a million other books, I'm constantly reading. In my experience HP fans are usually quite well read. If you want to rant about a YA book, please go read Twilight... thank you.

  • LOTR IS BEST THING EVER

  • The Lovecraft books own!

  • You're insulting a book that children read. Nothing better to do dude?

  • He's insulting a book that's intended for children ("Hufflepuff" are you fucking kidding me?!?!) but got enough press and buzz about it that adults started picking it up and said it was a good series because they are incapable of thinking for themselves.

Harry potter is absolutely Juvenile and I have no idea why it took off the way it did. Mass marketing at its finest, the product just doesn't measure up.

  • It took off because it's a great series.

  • its shit...

  • y do u care if adults read books they like? these books arent written just for children tom sawyer was written 4 children, so were many classics

  • The ONLY good thing i can see about peple reading Harry Potter is maybe some sort of parent child relationship building. But fuck Harry Potter, there are better books out there.

  • Well done. From a literary standpoint, harry potter really does suck. People don't seem to get that.

  • Harry Potter is a stupid children's book.

    Pure and simple.

  • correct

  • i liked the harry potter series. i'm not a big reader. i've also read a couple of other books by john grisham, whom i think is a great author. the client, the testament & a couple others. check em out. u'd like em.

  • good job, like ur video

  • This guy is totaly RIGHT!!!Fuck Harry potter,he's a cocksucker. The books/movies are miserable pieces of shit.Lord of the Rings is the greatest trilogy/Book of all time!

  • Ever read 'Crown Duel'?

  • um excuse me, but harry potter got me into reading! i started reading them when i was 11 and now, i'm one of the greatest readers my school ever saw!

  • man, your a total loser. why can't people just read what they want. you should really chill out about what everyone else is reading. you probably haven't accomplished much in your life except holding a 5.25 an hour job for a couple years and managing to stay in your parents house feeding off them. so yea. cut yo damn hair. goddamn sasquatch shit. your ugly. where a bag when posting vids

  • Lord of the Rings, Anyone?

  • IMAJICA is one of the best. Quite long, though.

  • Earthsea. The earthsea series is awesome.

  • Reading the books only because others are doing so? What is that the Idiot Philosophy? I mean, granted, the disease of "following the leader" is contagious, but come on? Those rules don't apply in terms of reading.

Also, I'm 14 years old and I feel the Harry Potter series are a collection of works aimed at ALL AGES! It was composed by an adult, so why can't fellow adults indulge in the wonderful acts of this saga? I don't understand why you oppose to it.

  • Additionally, I don't agree with how you're saying someone who's only read a Harry Potter in the past year should be ashamed. That makes NO sense! First of all, who's ignorant enough to define a person's being by the books they read? I mean, they're BOOKS! BOOKS! Be happy that people are even READING, versus the rest of the world who take fun in just watching TV!

  • Oh, and it's kinda pathetic how you're comparing a said children's book to some other unknown fantasy novel in a effort to what? It's not gonna change the world, smarts! But, anyway, let me stop while I'm ahead before I get nasty. I respect your opinion enough not to make a fool of you on your own video, so I'm gonna leave on this note: IT'S JUST A BOOK!

  • 1) The Harry Potter books were written for children. J.K. Rowling said herself she was aiming for children of the age group of her original fans. 2) Books are like music taste. They are very telling of a personality. If you have no taste in books beyond Harry Potter then it tells a lot about your personality, doesn't it?

  • 1.) They were INITIALLY for children. But as the years progressed and the novel's became more popular, Jo decided to also aim for an older audience.

2.) I don't feel the same way about someone's personality by the books they read. I mean, that just seems like pure ignorance to me.

  • 1) It's still a book a child could read. If the only book you've read in the last year is something a child could read, it says something about your intelligence. Read a real book.

    2) You can't judge somebody by their taste in music, or books, because it's completely subjective. But an adult reading a Harry Potter book is like listening to The Wiggles.

  • Well, bro, I'm only 14--years away from leaving my adolescence, so move outta my face.

  • The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb, now that's some awesome fantasy literature. Also, check out George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series

  • Yep teaching kids magic how great. Tolkien I like more cause it's also for adults. Besides the original is Roal Dahl, read his books kids. And the bible too.

  • I have a job and do not live with my parents.

Also, nothing about my haircut has anything to do with homosexuality.

  • "The Sword of Truth series is also known[citation needed] for its intricately woven political intrigue, offering a stark contrast between Objectivist and socialist or collectivist beliefs.

The first few volumes of the series present[citation needed] a much more subtle tone of Objectivist philosophy, but as the protagonist Richard grows into his role through the series, Goodkind's works feature a more prominent focus on philosophical themes."

  • harry potter isnt good literature! JK Rowling isnt THAT talented. Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Tolkien, Arthur C Clarke, if ppl are saying harry potter is good literature like the books by these authors thats fucking ridiculous. shes only got one idea as well at least Asimov came up with a few origonal ideas, Rowling only has one semi-origonal idea.

  • anyone who's gonna bash harry potter needs to realize that litterature is subjective...you can state your opinion but dont act like it's a fact

  • All Harry Potter books should contain warnings.

*Intended only for people with an imagination! Not boring twats!*

  • I started the Harry Potter series around the age of ten when they came out, and I basically grew up with the characters and the books. The series actually got me interested into reading other books too. My affection for the books will not go away when I am a legal adult. I'll probably just read them again :p.

  • at the risk of getting off subject, you actualy look a lot like andy hurley....

    Good Video, I agree

  • I read the first Harry Potter book and enjoyed it. Hoping to read the rest of them. My opinion is people should read what they enjoy not what somebody tells them what is acceptable reading.

I enjoy reading all types of books. Whether they be "children" or "adult." One positive thing I can say about children books is that they can keep one young at heart. Winnie the Pooh is one my favorites. LOL!

Also, I think it is ok that some people do not enjoy reading. Everyone has different interests.

  • I semi agree with you. It's a childrens book, She wrote the harry potter series about stories that she told her kids

  • *beep

  • Ginger locks waving, the evil nerd let out a gibbering nerdy cry:

    "This book kicks ass!"

I flinched. I dearly wished I was imagining things, but I knew better.

On and on went the nerd. Do not argue with me, he seemed to say, or you'll be sorry.

My instincts screamed against posting a comment. If I angered him I would get many minus marks, and then my comment would disappear. I would have to repost then. Fuck.

The nerdy-thing cackled softly with satisfaction.

  • I agree and/or respect with a lot of your videos but what about people who read often and enjoy the Harry Potter series?

It's my opinion that they're well written and employ classic literary themes (i.e. Hercules)

  • Agreed, I loath the harry potter books. I do love some childrens books though, like The Redwall series WOOT! I read Tad Williams' Shadowmarch last year and i liked it quite a bit and waited for the second installment "Shadowplay" to come out wich it did recently and heard it sucked ass. anyway i was just wondering if you've read any of his books and have any thought on shadowplay or possibly some other series of his.

  • I also read all of the vampire chronicles by anne rice, but I dont read every vampire book that falls in my lap. please dont say that sword of truth is a better book than potter. thats your opinion, and its a lonley one. maybie you didnt put enough thought into the potter series when you read it.

  • I think one of the reasons I dont read alot of other fantasy books is that I dont think sword of truth or mists of avalon or really any other "wizard" book has bin as intenly thought through. I startedreading the potter franchise at 13 years old, now I'm 23 a colledge grad and respectable ADULT. and I still dont think any other author has givin me characters worth holding onto and caring about in the way that jo did

  • Terry Goodkind is the only "adult" book you reccomend? Do you people intend on fufilling ever stereotype about yourselves?

  • I purposely picked a fantasy book because Harry Potter was the topic.

  • Then pick a good fantasy book, not book of S&M fetishes aimed at 15 year olds.

  • Hahaha!I dont read books cause im a fucking retard and dont like thinking

  • Haha, I was wondering what book you were going to recommend. I'm actually reading it right now, which is why I found this to be funny.

I'm finding that the beginning is seeming a little rushed, they're at the boundary. It just seems that everything is happening so quickly. I'm sure it will be great though.

    (Damn, I paid about $15.00 for it! =P )

  • That book is horrible, but i like your point

  • I suggest you should all broaden your literary horizons

  • why is it that EVERY person on youtube i see who makes videos about harry potter sucking looks like they play fucking star wars, and watch star trek or something? -laughs-

  • HAHA

    TRUE!!!!

  • Have you read George R. R. Martin's A song of fire and ice series? It's fucking amzing. As adult as it gets. Rape, murder, magic, incest, and great plots and sub polts. Got picked up by HBO as well.

  • Agree, ASOIAF is fucking genius. Oh, and btw: I *like* Harry Potter ;-)

  • your hair is superb.

    your opinions are well expressed.

  • rofl

  • god, there is a reason that book you have there is so cheap, cause it must suck and nobody wants it, JK Rowling is loved by many and very very popular, have you read all 7 harry potter books? they are fantastic and millions of people agree with ME. im 16 and i enjoy harry potter, its aimed at all ages from 12 onwards, not just at 12 years olds FYI. sorry, but i couldnt disagree with you more

  • It was that cheap as a promotional deal because a new book in the series had just come out.

  • i read all the ender's saga books AND the shadow saga books and are awesome. orson scott card kicks ass.

  • 5 stars, ty.

  • And just because you're a fantasy reader, I'm going to throw this out there because I've been looking for a while. There's a novel that's pretty thick out there. all I remember about it is it had the word Stone in the title and the front has a b&w pic in the middle with a coppery brown color surrounding it. All I remember about the story is there's a boy & the mother tells a story at the beginning about his family and it ends up being him or something.

  • Hey. I read Harry Potter... but I also read just about anything I can get my hands on. Just wondering if you are a fan of either the Dragonlance Series or Neil Gaiman or if you're into sci-fi, the Ender Wiggins series. Those are my top favorites.

  • Ender's Game is awesome.

  • I have read that book, and Ender's Game really is great, but i like Ender's Shadow better, it is from the veiw point of another main charaicter named Bean... really good book

  • I don't know if I'd say I like it better, but Ender's Shadow is really good.

  • yes those books are great. I love everything by orson scott card. you should read his new book empire its worth it just for the second chapter.

  • im 13 im allowed read harry potter but i read alot more

  • Good video post. I've seen this on harrypotterhaters website.

  • You should be ashamed of having read only one book the last year? Well that's pretty nerdy said.

  • When did I say I've only read one book? That's completely false.

  • No I was quoting you.

  • I agree a little bit with what you are saying. Personally I think Harry Potter has done a wonderful job in getting people to start reading, myself included, and now I read a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction. I do agree that people should not obsess over the same series. Deversity is good :D

  • Great series, I recommend it too. You'll find a lot of interesting stuff in this books, including romance.

  • ya umm...people can read harry potter and like the series...and also read "adult books"...and ya..i've read more mature books then that fucking wizard book

  • I recommended Wizard's First Rule because it is in the fantasy genre.

  • It shows

  • I've read pratchette, forgotten realms, dragonlance (numerous), terry goodkind, and etc. I like harry potter. I'm not too impressed by terry goodkind, his characters are cardboard, it's not too creative, the plot is meh. the only saving grace of terry goodkind is that he's an excellent writer. Extremely good writing, that is what saves that series. I've read up to blood of the fold.

  • "better written level." nice grammer there comic book guy. lol.

  • We should be f***ing ashamed? You should look in the mirror! Get a haircut, do some exercise, lose about 100 pounds, you'll be good to go!

And also, HP was originally written for adults.

  • I like that series. I started reading it when I was grounded in high school and have read it since. And you are right, it does stomp the shit out of Harry Potter.

  • LMAO. This is what you call a fucking nerd. How about taking your fucking fat ass and doing some sort of physical activity instead of sitting your lazy ass on the computer and reading bullshit.

  • Oh man, I've read that!

It was reccommended to me on a forum. Good book.

  • A Wizard of Earthsea! thats an old classic book dealing with wizards ^^ much better than HP imo, althought im reading HP7, trying to get to the part he dies :P(ups- spoiler ]:-> ) that should be fun. BTW the HP 5th movie sucked :(, also hermione is sexy, and thats all i have to say about the HP topic ^^

  • The Harry Potter books kick ass, you kind sir can/should suck balls.

  • go read forgotten relms, it rules

  • You should replace the battery in your smoke alarm.

  • why is that all people who hate harry potter say "fuck" about twice every minute?

    you idiot.

  • First of all, would people read through 7 books that they didn't enjoy just because other people do? I don't think so! The book became popular because people actually liked it! Crazy I know...

Jk Rowling wrote it as a childrens book so I don't think you can criticize it for being what it was inttended to be.

Contrary to your belief that people who read Harry Potter only read Harry Potter, I, like many people I know, only started reading because of this series. \

  • haha you suggest all these books and yet your name is omniverse? oh hello star trek/wars? forgive me i didnt listen to your whole book suggestion/ all those star trek fans if i insulted you... you said you agreed with most of the other guys rant? the books i heard you suggest sounded -by base line- similar. and talk faster i got bored

  • have you even read harry potter?

i read all sorts of things, but i just hate it when people judge harry potter without having even read it at all.

  • I've never read Terry Goodkind but I have read Tolkien and George R R Martin, oh and guess what! I've read Harry Potter too and I quite enjoyed it. I read a book every day or two. I'm 23. I love the Harry Potter books and you're close minded view of everyone who reads them stems from racism and sexism and every other prejudice. People are intitled to their opinion but don't generalize.

  • "you're close minded view of everyone who reads them stems from racism and sexism and every other prejudice."

Actually, I think the Harry Potter books are trite, poorly-written and generally shitty children's novels, and the movies are worse. But thanks for your prejudiced opinion of my opinion. How 'bout ya fuck off now?

  • There is no objectivity in literature.

There's nothing wrong with Harry Potter...it's just a story. Relax.

The reason why many people read Harry Potter is because Rowling has good marketing. The books that are better publicized are the ones that are read.

    You look like a vagabundo.

    Everyone, Goodkind IS amazing.

  • Dude, do you think people who only read Harry Potter would have read 'adult' books in the first place if Harry Potter weren't released? If you think they're lost causes anyway then just leave them alone and let them read the one literary series they've ever read in their life!
