  • ok so he said if i need to spray the engine down again a third time with carb cleaner, all the plugs need to be out to prevent hydro locking, how the hell do i do that if the plugs are in and im trying to get them out! DUMASS!!

  • I will never buy another Ford.

Other brands of cars do not have this problem.

First the plugs blew out then now they break off! Cheeeeesssshhhh!!!

  • robbiebray69,

Depends on what year your truck is. these were used from 2004 through 2008

  • i have a f150 4.6 with coil packs.are the spark plugs want to break? its new to me,haven"t changed them yet.

  • Toob, meant the lucky comment for the other guy sorry. Your engine uses conventional spark plugs and does not have issues like this one.

  • Autolite has redesigned these plugs to be much stronger and never break. Look for the box with the orange band on the front that says High Strength Steel.

  • This style of Hi-Thread spark plug is only used on 2004-2008 Ford V8 and V10 Three valve engines. Your engine uses conventional spark plugs

  • i have done this once on my 5.4 2001 e250 extnd. I have a question about the plugs ? I swear mine didn't have a long ground starp and looked normal is that possible i swear they were normal not elongated ? I changed them at 91k because i misfired , the plug was oil covered so i imaine my rings are shot ,no>? MAybe I also had the coil spring break so i had to stretch it abit , ran great , now misfires, am going to change coils if my plugs wernt elongated does that mean they were changed before?

  • @toob247

Better lucky than good. This is not the recommended procedure and usually would result in many broken plugs.

  • @cadzillals6 i changed them like the book said so what was lucky ? The stretching of the coil spring? I;m going to change plugs and all the packs this time . Your other comment says my engine uses reg plugs ? thanks for answering so fast .I'm confused does my engine type have plug breakage problems?

  • Here is the way I did it on my 07 Expedition, two tanks of gas with Z Max, hot engine, soak plugs with Kroil 1 hour, used special 9/16 socket wrench, 3/8 to 1/2" U joint with extention, 1/2" air impact wrench. put socket wrench on plug, closed eyes , crossed fingers, gave it the air. Spun right out all eight plugs, install 8 MC SP 515 plugs anti S, road test, sent Lislie tool unused back to Amazon. about 4 hours work. Result, smooth engine, better gas mileage no problems, watch TV, eat dinner.

  • Ford fail.

  • thanks for the response I think I got it defective spark plug

thanks again your video was real helpful

  • I dit it thanks now after I install all the plugs

I end up with a code saying cylinder #1 mis fire and code p0351

help what can I do to fix this problem

  • You are incorrect. The procedure works for those with patience. The lisle tool kit is the best. The autolite and motor craft plugs have been redesigned and made much stronger, ford has four heat ranges for these engines and champion has one. The vehicles will cold foul and run into preignition danger when using champion plugs. The engine was calibrated and designed to use the autolite or motor craft plugs

  • thanks for the info friends at autolite.. =) z flores..
