Johnny Ray 7" on Turk records, True Blue on a flexi free with Event SW mag, Sweete Malaise on Fantastic Records 'Welcome to the West' ep, Rotate ep on ch 22, Retro Head Flux on Swordfish, Perfume Expt LP on Danceteria (this track's from that), Can You Dig on same label; then as Naked I an ep on their own label and 2 singles on mad minute (the 1 I have is called Step Inside). Great early demos and a wonderful live band. I thought Jive Turkey and Cult Maniax were going to take over the world...
great to see this clip. I agree with youstertube - this is when they started to lose their way really. Goodbye Johnny Ray is an epic song. They had an ep on chapter 22 records, then another on an independent before this album, then a terrible one called Can U Dig?. They rebirthed as Naked I and found that same primal sound that early Jive Turkey had. I hear they are now a Johnny Cash tribute band - Ring of Fire back in the Nth Devon.
Excellent band , I saw then a number of times in Leeds but this song does n't do them justice. I still play "goodbye johnny ray " ,which I would say is their best song.
