Loved this film, I have friends and family serving in Afghan at the moment and they thought that this was a great film as well. It is true up to a point that bomb disposal experts do get a kick out of what they do. It takes a very special, very brave person to do that job.

This movie is such a good movie, we watched it in a history class, and i think this is one of my fav movies now. Full of action and violence. For people that can't take emotional movies well, this could be emotional. Shows people of how strong are military is, and how they are willing to die for us... It is actually good. But it didn't deserve an Oscar. Avatar, Inglorious Basterds, Precious and Up were also nominated for the Best Picture- and they are all better than the Hurt Locker.

This movie is such a good movie, we watched it in a history class, and i think this is one of my fav movies now. Full of action and violence. For people that can't take emotional movies well, this could be emotional. Shows people of how strong are military is, and how they are willing to die for us... I worked with a lot of EOD guys when I was in Iraq, and this was nothing like what really happened when I was there. We just blew shit up and moved on. There was no disarming. Hard to watch when my reality is 180 degrees of what they show in this movie.

This film is more a thrill ride within a character study than anything. War is the means that these kind of people have to live by (which is the why the movie ends the way it does).
