  • can you put sonar, reason, logic or protools in the DBeat?

  • teddy's the man

  • WORTH 4000 DOLLAR

  • Not really feelin the music to be honest. And I rather have the XXL

  • if club owners put this in their clubs, you'll see the cd era go bye bye!!!

Deadmau5 already said that this is the way forward, and at a touch of a button, you can create your own beat, sounds and individualize a set.

  • @LaminaDieWills "if club owners put this in their clubs, you'll see the cd era go bye bye!!!". LMAO!!

  • The Neko XXL has larger pads.

  • @Jla923 It may look like the XXL does but they are the same

  • Man, the open lab dbeat looks good, but instead of a big screen they should have used some of the space for larger pads. Those pads are smaller than the MPC 1000 pads. That is ridiculous for the price you have to pay for the unit I would want bigger pads.

  • I have a Neko XXL and you can do all of that on there.

  • can u do all this stuff that he is doin on the dbeat on the meko or neko to?

  • openlabs is actually a better product for most musicians. it does seem a bit expensive, because if you get a separate audio interface (rme), controller (yamaha/novation), computer (core i7 daw pc), it will be more powerful and cost a tiny bit more than the dbeat, however, openlabs made the reliability, touchscreen and convenience (portability) feasible.

i would like to see the next openlabs though with a 24bit/192 khz interface (rme) for DVD/video production.

  • I think it's amazing how Open Labs has taken simple effects that you can do with a DJ mixer, CD player and a computer and put a 3k plus price tag on it. I've been doing this same stuff for years at less cost! I'm not saying that they don't have the bomb product, but what I am saying is that what they are doing, Teddy and Morris, is nothin new and it can be done at a cheeper price. However, if you have the money, buy it! There is nothing like the convenience of havin it all in one 18 pound box!

  • i can only steal it... lol

  • wtf how much does this cost dude?

  • 3,799 on open labs website

  • the track in this video is an Ableton Demo. It's not his. granted, yes he could have done a track of his own. because if he did he probably would have had a midi controller hooked up to it

  • the guy that invent this Dbeat, must be a musical genius

  • I know how long Teddy Riley has been producing...but wow, he could've done something wayyyy better than this.

  • You look at the tree of producers, Teddy is the branch that started it all from the NJS on down.

  • teddy riley worked with michael jackson a lot

  • Can the Dbeat run software like pro tools and ableton as well?

  • dude the video just mentions theyre usin abelton live

  • i dont understand what the crossfader is for if you're not using turntables

  • This is a digital piece of equipment so the crossfader is just a midi-controller just like any other button/switch/fader/knob on this machine...

SO... it can be assigned to any controllable parameter of the software running on the machine

  • you can hook up turntables

  • Interesting but overprice especially with the fire box interface; please get someone better than Teddy Riley to demo your product. That beat was garbage! Are these industry producers buying this stuff or are you giving it to them for free? Can you put a better interface in it like a profile 610?

  • Teddy Riley is a legend! Dont be disrespectful! How many grammys do you have compared to Teddy!

  • wow you must not know who teddy riley is

  • Teddy Riley is the perfect choice to demo

    the Open labs.

  • Incredible :O

  • last keyboard u will ever need.. u can download the fantom sounds the motif sounds the triton sounds.. basically any sounds.. plus u can stay updated with the new vst's that are always coming out. i always said leran your intrument... with this it's the best of both worlds.. new sounds... and familiarity

  • Open Labs has gone insane. Note that it definitely does not cater to "home" producers. Because we cant afford it! Not OL's fault but it is what it is. Its like being broke wanting a Ferrari.

  • only $4,000. its a steal

  • do you guys do lay-away

  • No lay-away, but financing is available through our dealers like Musicians Friend. Check out our website for a full list of dealers.

  • here i was thinking he was going to do the traditional punk beat.

    BUT NO!!!!!!!!!!!

    hes just another techno poof

  • you can use that for live disc jockey.......

you don't even need turntables and a mixer...thats what i would use it for

  • this guy won an award?

  • check out my channel for some great videos, we are a rising production and are in need of new supporters help support!

  • I don't think he is saying that DBeat is better than the MiKo, just an entirely different instrument altogether. Though the MiKo is portable, DBeat is even smaller and lighter (20 lbs) than the MiKo. Add an external MIDI keyboard and you're still looking at around half the weight of a MiKo. Plus, you can take the DBeat on the airplane with you, it's that small.

    Hope this helps.

  • Are you guys going to update this with Ableton Live 8 Suite now that it is out...

  • DBeat is shipping with Ableton Live 7, but you can always upgrade to Ableton 8 on your own with our gear.

    -Carson

  • Please for God's sake, Make that Tour happen we need it Teddy we need Guy and Black street and BBD and many many more out there.

  • Open labs does it again. And none other than the legendary TR to show what it can do. I gotta get one of these. I'm working on getting a NEKO first.

  • Shit looks Crazy!! Endless possibilities, im still tryna figure out how everything would work..and get my head around this new technology, looks dope though...

  • How much for one of those? nice and com pact.
