Elmer Bernstein (Magnificent 7), Alfred Newman (How the West Was Won), Dimitri Tiomkin (High Noon), Frank De Vol, Jerry Livingston, Mack David (Cat Ballou) & the other talented composers & songwriters who wrote this music were trying to evoke a mood or the feel of the old west not create actual cowboy songs. Incidentally, "I Was Born Under a Western Star" is from Broadway Musical, Paint Your Wagon & Cat Ballou Theme is sung by pop vocalist Nat "King" Cole.
These songs are Movie Western songs not Cowboy songs. How sad that this shallow generation who were not introduced to music appreciation & music history in the schools can't distinguish between movie music & true cowboy music. Roy Rodgers, Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry & Jimmy Wakely sang authentic cowboys songs in their movies. TCM just finished running a series on old 30s, 40, 50s singing cowboy movies. Next time they show one of these old shoot-em ups tune in. You might learn something
Yeah xdevilxduckyx, I agree with you there, still better than most of the comedies today, (little Bas**** shot him in the arse LOL). Made before everythig went Politicaly Correct mad.
Wow! I'm a little late in finding this, but I am totally blown away - you have amazing skills putting it all together - I've just barely broke through the surface. Your animation skills, storyline and entertainment value are fantastic!
When all the indians are dancing around there teepees and the shaman dude is playing his staff a cowboy says 'wow those guys know whow to party' whats teh name of the next song?
THIS IS AWESOME! Hate to say I remember most of those tunes but that's life. This is one fine video. Really great to watch and I watched it more than once. Anytime Lee Marvin sings... it's gotta be good.
1:50, that's Thierry Henry surely!
