My nephew passed away on 09-14-10, he was an organ donor. They had a memorial service last Friday for donor families. They read this story and gave little silver starfish bookmarks with a copy of it to the family members. I'd never heard it before but thought it was so fitting for the occasion. Don't forget that organ donors make a difference too.

I have Dyslexia and I run a website for kids with Dyslexia. As a kid I wint throw a lot of hard times deleing with my Dyslexia to where I almost wanted to die myself. (Never thinking about killing myself thow!) I know thare are thowsinds of Dyslexic kids out thare. and I know I can not posiby reach and help them all. Evein thow I want to. I hope it's not just to starfishes and the people around us. But also the animals, we should care for them, not throw them away and leave them starving to death. Like my grandmother and mother. We have these kittens you see, and since we live in the Philippines, they want to throw those kittens away, even if they know that no one would care to feed them, so they'll just starve to death. If you care for one kitten, wouldn't that be also making a difference for them? What do you think?

Not when the tide comes in, but if they wash up on shore and can't get back in the water before the tide goes out, they die.

Yeah they will get dehydrated, especially with the sun scorching down on them when they are still on the shore at low tide without any form of protection from the suns heat
