That lot playing enemy look like they've been in their gonk bags since the night before. i sincerely hope this is not the standard for "winning" cambrian teams, i've seen BUOTC as well as the Anglian's first hand performing fire manouevers that would make you s**t yourself whilst going over that fence.

this is a joke... what a bunch of assets. terribly slow, poor communication, some people at the beggining have no muzzle clearence what so ever. some people dont know what a fire posision is, or how to use the sussat. dont bother joining the army.

In addition, fighting in "build up areas" is one of the thoughest fights one might get.

Not an easy job since the enemy could hide themselves everywhere.

Did FIBUA training myself in Sennybridge in 1993 when we, 11th Infantry Battalion Airmobile/AASLT were there for a traing with the Brits and Krauts.

This video shows how to improve skills. Instead if opening fire before jumping over that fence they had to crowl silently under (or over) that fence, and crowl near that house. Use a grenade launcher for the shock effect and same time smoke grenades. Get near that house and throw grenades into it. Also go from 3 fronts, left, middle and right. Encircle it when possible. Middle to keep front opened whilst left and right encircle it and can concentrale on eventual other objects.

The worst attack iv seen it should have taken no more then a minute to get u in and clear that position. Whats wrong with window breaching and why did everyone pile in. You guys need to learn about assulting pairs and someone should tell the first man to have a magazine on there weapon. In my opinion you embarrassed the british army by posting this. You might be students but you should also learn to be proffesionals at your job its not a game its the army lads.

@tayles1 Totally agree again, don't take this as the standard of OTCs though. This must have been their first practice run but still no excuse for a cambrian winning team.

I Should hope so, every OTC I have come across are useless and seem to love wearing their hoods loose as opposed to rolled up, buying SAS smocks, airborne webbing. Theys be best of joining the TA so we can use them on ops as opposed to drinking them under the table

@InfantryChans91 Not in my OTC they don't!!!, although we have para airborne helmets and webbing but they were given to us. The PSIs and DSs from The Rifles said we were just as good as any professional unit, ranking among the best TA units.

Problem with the TA and doing ops is we're all students, studying a degree, most will do Sandhurst and commission as a second lt but most don't. Even if they do we're useless as you can't be called up whilst you're at uni otherwise you screw your chances..

But yes above is not the standard, there is a lot of professionalism within OTC units as a whole, probably because our teaching staff is made up of 10 SSGTs and 5 WO2s led by a WO1 and they never let us slack.

I have to say I'm a little dissapointed.

Too slow getting over the fence, then you lose all momentum getting up the hill (at this point youv'e lost the initiative - your fucked) Then you were too slow in the building and no proper communication.

We would of been straight up that hill with smoke, tossed a few grenades through the window, jumped in after them and would of been having scoff by the time it took you to get over that fence!

I would say you sneaked it a bit this year, I agree on the drills could be faster more aggression, if your going to take so long to assault the builing control your rate of fire more, maybe use the window next time and make sure the whole patrol knows there job saw a bit of indecisiveness around the builing. But fun to watch the vid congrats on the gold!

Well both myself and the team would disagree with there! Having won a gold the last two years and silver before that, i would have said the team was doing well. However, i agree that tis attack does have a few points to work on, especially the terrible acting by the enemy! Cheers for your post!
