About the "Failed to save icon" error message thingy: I bet that has to do with the framing of the icon that you can add to the launcher, as the seems to be the shape. Can you move the icon around and/or resize it?
How about podcast handling? Can you subscribe to them, auto-download them, etc? Can you download an MP3 from the web browser and put it in your library (if it has a library)?
I was just wondering how you could import a calender (such as a sports team) into the calender app. I know they had it in the demo pres, but im not sure how you would do that. Thanks for the videos
On my treo if you hit alt and then type a letter you get the drop down with the modified characters (like accents etc).
A lot of the interface looks really sweet and has new functions to it but all the stuff I like about my treo is in there. I can't wait for this thing.
Thanks for addressing the Google Background Information issue! Oh an in one of the videos the issue of RSS reader came up...There must be one included and if not...the WebOS book which comes out in August (but rough cut is available for purchase now)...uses creating a RSS new readers as their ongoing example... so to demostrate each new feature of WebOS you add the feature to code for a RSS reader....
Great videos, helps to fill the gap while we wait. Question: Do you know if we will be able to create folders, and drag icons into the folder? It would be great to have a Games folder etc to keep things neat.
I have not seen any ability to do this, then again like I have said before this emulator came with no instructions and it may be limited in what it can do.
How does the voicemail look? Anything like Visual Voicemail? Also, if you are not near your phone and miss a call...does a light blink or something to let you know you missed the call? I know you only have the emulator so you may not know.
Voicemail is just a phone call to your voicemail as of right now the Pre will not have visual voicemail. As for the light... I know the Pre has them but I don't know if it will be used in this way. I hope it is!
I had noticed that after posting my comment. I have a question. If a 13 year old kid and a business man/woman both want the Pre are they more likely to sell it to the business man/woman?
You should post a vid of how many applications you can run at the same time and if theres a way to close all the applications at once, you should show that as well. Thanks.
He can probably run as many applications as he wants because the emulator is using the laptop's hardware. It wouldn't be an accurate reflection of what the pre would be able to handle. I'm curious about a mass close feature as well, though.
can memos be alphabetized?

Thanks for the videos! I use the alarm of my cell phone to wake up. Does Pre have an alarm application?
Thank you.

About the Notes App:
What's the up-turned corner of the bottom-right of the note do?
Also, can you change the color of the notes? Is it always random?
What about changing the default background image?
ColonelKernel 2 years ago
The up turned corner allows you to change the color of the note. As for default background image I haven't seen anything yet.

You can subscribe to various calendars in Google Caledar. Then the Pre will sync it as a part of your Google Calendar.

Did you see any way you can import contacts over Bluetooth? I know that Bluetooth does not work but was there at least an option to do it?

Voicemail is not visual tapping the voicemail button simply places a call to voicemail.

Are you able to change the background picture on the home page or does it have to stay as the same picture?

Yes you can change it. See my Settings video to see it in action.

Xseemefly1X 2 years ago
Flash is not out yet but it is said to be out by the end of the year.
I'll work on showing how to link people.
Virtua is the "virtual network" the Pre is running on on the emulator.

Good point, it runs pretty smooth, I'm curious as to see how smooth it'll run on the actual Palm Pre hardware. Hopefully its similar.

brian22220 2 years ago

nanosman1 2 years ago
it's glass. I'm pretty sure all capacitive screens are glass
KirbyKoot401 2 years ago
ok thanks
nanosman1 2 years ago
no its plastic
Xseemefly1X 2 years ago
plastic on a phone screen? are you kidding me?
Anyway, straight from wikipedia: A capacitive touchscreen panel is a sensor typically made of glass coated with a material such as indium tin oxide.
KirbyKoot401 2 years ago
It's plastic, just like the G1 screen which is also capacitive.
although I wish it was glass.
MO3iusONE 2 years ago
The screen is made from plastic.
