@SheaDesign Yeah, but im really looking for picture quality. I already have a video camera, so im looking for a digital photo camera. See currently im stuck with film, which is great, except for its expensive over time/
There is too much overhead for full time auto focus in this case,.. you can force it but it uses contrast detection based through the sensor (vs normal optical mech). I'm surprised you can't disable it.
Sorry I did not see your earlier post. 720 is plenty fat. -Shea
Shea, since you have bitching camera, I'll ask you this. I recently got a Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD, because it was the only relatively cheap 10MP camera to also do HD videos (720p) - I paid $270 for it.
Now this is a great camera (for the price) for macro shots and extreme close-ups (under 1cm). I use it to take pictures of surfaces and details that I need to make textures for my 3D models.
Here's the problem: For pics, I have tons of settings I can change, especially the manual focus, which I can adjust to take extreme close-ups of fingerprints or make it focus on something 50 meters away.
I can't do that with video though! In video mode, it auto-focuses constantly so I can't make proper movies or adjust the focus manually. Does your camera have that option and do all cameras with large "fixed zoom" lenses have it For Video Also? I've seen $500+ ones without HD video. :(
ohh i want to win this camera in the Canon in the parks contest so bad!
