I think when it comes to Moceanu and Bela's training methods, you have to keep in mind that Bela probably got to take more liberties when it came to his questionable training methods. Her parents idolized him because he was Nadia's coach and they wanted him to do whatever was necessary to make her champion.

Kerri Strug made the olympic team in 1992 when she was only 14 years old so why did everyone make such a huge deal with Dominique did..Kerri was just as good as her. I've always wondered if the reason Bela and Dom split was because of her parents, he seemed to take their side, and with what happened after Atlanta, makes you wonder. Just a theory, I have no idea if that's true :).

Why did they show fottage of Betty Okino when Dawes was talking about her injuries?! That makes me mad everytime they do something about Dawes and show a picture or video of Betty Okino. They clearly look different. Dawes wore a bun her whole career, minus 2000, Betty wore a braid. Betty was like 5'-4" or something, Dawes was only like 5'-1". smh. Get it together.

She definitely wasn't the biggest threat as far as skill, but she was a threat as far as favorites. You gotta admit, even though Dominique Dawes didn't have the best form, she was very likeable in the clips of her. And her floor routines were always conveying something beautiful and when she cried, you cried. So I think they probably meant it as in she was the one that everyone liked. Even if she wasn't your favorite. And she was the only one who didn't make big mistakes in the Olympics.

I'm not sure how fair that was to her really... it's easy to call her ungrateful but if she hadn't made it to the Olympics maybe you'd see it in that light.

@MelleAndKev To "realize" something means to achieve it--I meant that they had helped her get to the Olympics, not that they helped her to see that she had such a dream. It's an alternate meaning of the word. Dominique has, on her blogs and such, been very critical and sometimes downright nasty toward her parents and coaches, so yes, I do think she has been ungrateful or, at the very least, ungracious.

People like Moceauneau's parents, who planned for her to be a gymnast before she was even born, are scum who would deny their children free will. It doesn't always end in a gold medal and it's no surprise she sued them for emancipation at one point. Don't have children if you want them to live out YOUR dreams.

I mean I would like my child do be a gymnast but I'm not going to force her/him. I'll probably put her/him in a gymnastics class but also let her try out other things and if she/he finds he/she likes Soccer or Ballet more thats fine with me!
