  • My mama's side of the family....these are the sounds of my Yoeme people. We use a special instrument called Vakuvache, the Gourd Water drum. I want to set straight those doing BAD research, saying this instrument is Mayan. The water drum is known because of us Yoeme, it's more widely used by us! Back in the 80's I recall playing this instrument before anyone in the US knew what it was. The Vakuvache is the sound of Deers' heartbeat!!! I finally had to say this. LIos emak taawa!!!
