My friend at the university was in a project, where a robot with a single camera goes around recording the surroundings, then constructing the 3d model of the room or anything it is in from the differences of the pictures. Sadly this is not in real time, its done after the recording on a pc, not like its the case in this video. On the other hand you can do it with a single not soo good camera. If you're intreseted in stuff like this, look it up.
