  • I dont know for sure but I think the 302 was a de stroked motor for whatever reason ....

  • @rproctor30 Yes. Same pistons as a 350. It was done to make them rev faster. Same reason Mopar had the 340. But differance is you could not buy a Mopar with a Trans Am spec race engine at the dealer. But you could get the race 302 in a Z28! And the race Mopar has a different crank. Also destroked. Mopar race trim cubic inches is also 302 to meet spec. But I would still like to have a AAR Cuda or Challenger TA.

  • @CoachWagner09 Yes sir they did and as a matter of fact my father in law graciously gave me one . casting # 3814660 it was in a 70 or 71 split bumper camaro he got in on trade that was a basket case it didnt have the heads but i put double hump heads on it and it is a screamer...... I know it wasnt the origanal motor for the car. I needed a motor and he didnt know what it was just thought another 350.. he reminds me every week or so how much I owe him lol

  • why oh why do peeps comment on shit they have no idea about, chevy did make a 307.... do some research then leave an intelligent comment

  • @rproctor30 I know. I get alot of dumb arguements. It's just some people hate their life. And try and get a rise out of you.

  • @rproctor30 They also made a 302. A lot of people think that just because it's a certain number that is has to be that brand. Example 307 olds 302 ford. Chevy made a 307 and 302. Just like a chevy 350 and olds 350.

  • @CoachWagner09 Yes. The 302 was made for Trans Am racing. Well back in the day. They were limited to 302 ci. Also awsome engines.

  • @kgilroy25 If I'm not mistaken the chevy 302 has the most horsepower in stock form. I ran a 307 there not too bad, but underpowered compared to all of the other chevy small blocks.

  • Awsome! This video has started a place for V8 S10 discussions! I have seen alot of V8 S10's here. But mostly on the drag strip.

  • I've got a 307 that was in my '70 Chevy truck I built it up and stuck it into an '85 S10, its got 325-350HP 305 HO heads, 64CC heads which means right at 10:1 Compression, .470/.470 lift cam, roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer intake and 500CFM Edelbrock carb, Pete Jackson gear drive, updated HEI dist, and headers on it. Its a mean Engine and I built it because I haven't seen one built and never seen one in an S10.

  • @Chevypower265 I think they are awsome motors! Mine will pull tall 2:73 gears with heavy mud tires no problem. Run 3:55 gears and it really gets at it!

  • @kgilroy25 Oh yeah, they are tough engines! Well when I originally built it in my '70 truck its a long bed and full size, with 3:73 Posi and I could hammer it from a dead stop and smoke the tires on it. Now that its in this S10 I'll hammer ir and its smoking tires thru second and its got 3:08s in it.

I've got some videos of before and after in the '70 Truck and I've got a short video now of it in the S10.

  • @Chevypower265 , you never seen a smallblock chevy in an S10? weird...

  • @NP535overdrive No, I was talking about my 307 I have, I've never seen a built 307 or any 307 in an S10.

  • @NP535overdrive 307's arent chevy motors, theyre BOP (Buick, Pontiac, Olds). 305's and 350's are the most common chevy motors

  • @rblredneck Theres a 307 Chevy Engine, its got the bore of the 283 (3.875) and the Stroke of the 327 (3.25) Same part number on the crank as the 327. Look them up, Chevrolet built them from 1968 until 1973. They only come with 2bbl carbs. Chevy never built a high performance 307. They was mostly used in trucks and novas. Oh and by the way, before you come back and say anything about them all having 2bbl carbs, they did build a marine 307 with a 4bbl, however nobody knows how much power it made.

  • @dunn98632 This car was a rust bucket found in the desert. And being used for target pratice. The good cars get sold to a classic salvage yard/restoration shop back east. I don't throw money away. If the fenders or doors are straight he gives me junk ones in place of the good ones plus good money.

  • @Joker28th Sorry to correct you. But This is a rare Chevy 307. They where only made 1968 to 1973. It was the low level small block for both cars and trucks. It has the same crank as a 327. But with smaller pistons. Unlike some people's oppions. It was a much better motor then the 305 that came latter. My came from a 1969 Chevelle. I helped build a new 500 hp. ZZ4 small block bored and stroked to 406 for his car.

  • always wear your second favorite shirt. could of got it ripped off by the clutch fan

  • @xcody38x I would have saved it by stopping the fan with my face.

  • nice did u tuck the trunk i did on mine then dimpled c channnel welded fully and prebent horns on front fenders flush with top of hood

  • @MADDOGXXXMOPAR I tucked the trunk for the second run. And ran a pipe down from the roof to hold it there. I left the frame stock. Tried notching the rear bumper brackets instead. The left rail whent up. right whent down. But I made a off center hit too. That doesn't help. I ran a welded 76 Impala bumper. Too tough. Mangled the front frame. And almost twisted off.

  • is that a caprice belair or impala my 72 belair looks exactly the same

  • @MADDOGXXXMOPAR It is a Caprice Classic. It was fully loaded. Someone just left it to rot in the dessert. I have a 72 plain Caprice. Also rotten.

  • ndubecky2494 that was my reply under chrissyrk95. I forgot to log the wife out. Funny to me because this is now her car.

  • haha. nice. well thanks for the advice and happy new year to you too

  • what would cause my 307 to hesitate when i push the accelerator. i have to ease it to higher rpms. checked the timing and its at about 4 degrees before tdc

  • Mabye try 6 degrees. But total timing advance is more important. I think it is around 32 total advance. Also is yours points? Mine is now H.E.I. Points get burnt easy. Check dwell if points. My car is doing that now, But the carb was rebuilt and the screws backed off and blew the bowl gasket and it is sucking gas out out the bowl. Good luck! and Happy New Year!

  • Yes. I am painting it now. Almost done. Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh it runs good. And runs just as good with out the radiator. The new small tube headers really boost the torque. And revs quicker. They are just louder then I like.

  • Sounds good!!!
