@Lakerzfanboy4 The difference is that in the U.S. we got the Rebirth 3 episodes from Season 4(the rest of Season 4 was dropped, but the plans for what was to happen are out there to see with some digging around). In Japan, the 3 Rebirth episodes never happened, and the Headmasters series would be their "Season 4" (albeit being the 3rd series to air, since Season 3 was actually a sequel series to the first 2 seasons).

Hot Rod was outside Autobot city with Huffer and Bluestreak and they died (Bluestreak wasn't seen again so I amusing that he died) He went to Autobot city and Wheeljack, Windcharger, Optimus Prime died. Ironhide, Ratchet, Brawn and Prowl were heading to Autobt city were Hot Rod was and they died on the ship. Ultra Magnus died becuase he had the Matrix that was meant for Hot Rod. Cybertron explodes when Hot Rod went there.

@TheScorpionMK37 Frank Welker always played Soundwave, even in S3. They changed the vocoder settings which changed the resultant voice. But, from Day 1, without the vocoder, Frank Welker did his "Dr. Claw" voice for Soundwave. Then they processed it later with the vocoder.

I love soundwave cause he is one of the few G1 transformers to survive the evil toy wars that killed off most of the transformers to make more money with a new line of toys. Guess his luck ran out but I'm glad he wasn't completely taken out like most of the Autobots were.

yes there is. in the toy soundblaster is able to hold two tapes in his chest at one time while soundwave is only able to hold one. also for blaster, he changes color and is now blue. lol. Other than that, still the same.

Their colors are different (Soundwave is dark blue, Soundblaster is black; Blaster is red, Twincast is blue) and the toys were remolded so they can carry two cassettes instead of one.

The Transformers from Season 1 were the coolest (and the first season was the best). So of course, the only two Transformers still around from Season 1 (Optimus Prime and Soundwave) are killed off in the first couple episodes of this show.

I must say, this definitely seems more "anime" than the previous 3 seasons (that's not necessarily a bad thing. I like anime). At least they kept the logo-scene change (2:11). I'm sure that STILL happens every 2 seconds in this show.

Well, Soundwave was the only high-ranking Decepticon who always remained faithful to Megatron/Galvatron. He was also the only Season 1 Decepticon who was still alive at this point. It's understandable that Galvatron would be saddened by this (remember, now that he's sane again, he's capable of compassion). This is one of the few cases where the audience can have sympathy with a Decepticon.

You can see three of Soundwave's cassettes (Razorbeak, Ratbat, and Buzzsaw) carrying away his parts after the battle, so they survived at least. I don't think we see Rumble, Frenzy, Slugfest, or Overkill after this episode, so either they died here or the writers just forgot to include them in any future eps.

Two of Blaster's cassettes are standing around his body (Steeljaw and Ramhorn) so they're good, but I have no clue if we see the other two robot ones again.
