I've no idea how tall the reporter is because I can't see him, where his feet are, where the camera is placed or anyone/thing near the camera to give a perspective.

Why wouldn't they put a reporter there? The shot has a very good view of the skies around the Pentagon if anything else happened. It might be close to where they originally were stationed.

This is a disscussion of ideas ... not a baseball game.

Highjackers, Terrorists were key words to keep repeating over and over.

The whole days Television was about running clips all day and mentioning highjackers and terrorism at every opportunity.

I'm thinking that video feed came into CNN Control room and they added a bit of commentry plus a little bit of realism with hands.
