There was no censorship at all - the "artist" was free to create his art and show it in anywhere he wanted. But there is no reason that my tax dollars should go to support a gallery that that show this work. Would you feel the same way if it were a photo of a burning koran?

I find government subsidies for farmers offensive, but that doesn't mean I should pick and choose where each of my tax dollars go.
